funny how no one wants to talk about the positives , and owuld rather bring up old and tired posts from 2 years ago.
Well, your post title is "Awesome Sauce". Perhaps that was just not enough to get people to look at it?
Normally I don't look at posts with such titles. Yeah, call me a snob. However, I did look at it because you wrote it and usually have something interesting to say.
In any case, it just seems like you have posted screen shots of the coin system that they have. Which of course is something that I am looking forward to as it allows players to pick and choose their method of obtaining a reward.

Hey, I posted a thread about favourite things in SoM and you didnt even post in it Sol!
The changes to the radiance system and how it drops in SoM looks awesome and I agree that its among the best things with the expansion! Making it less of a grind and adding alot of option and flexibility to end game gear while still making the old dungeons/raids worth to run.
If WoW = The Beatles and WAR = Led Zeppelin Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
This new system can only be explained in one phrase ! AWESOME SAUCE
Well, it is good. And that I can do skirmishes that can be tweaked in difficulty and level in order to get these coins is also good.
I like the idea that a player can concentrate on different ways to get rewards, even if it might take them longer in certain cases.
I'm not a huge raider though I like the concept of raiding.
However, in doing the watcher a few times I have to say that it just wasn't fun. Oh sure it was fun the first time but given that a player could make one mistake and essentially botch it for the entire group is just, well, "bad". So if I had to do raids all the time in order to get these coins I wouldn't ever get them.
And given that I don't raid it would seem that "yes" I would never get them.
in ending I will share with you that I don't like the word "sauce". It sounds exactly like what it is and that is just gross.

I'm looking forward to this, too. Like many developers, I think they initially made things more complex than they needed to be. Now, if they'll kindly take tokens out of inventory entirely...

You didn't actually post anything, other than a link elsewhere which some of us won't pursue while at the office since you never know where they might lead.
Maybe next time extract the key salient points and info and put them in the body of your post?

skills !
I agree with Sovrath that raiding in MoM was way to unforgiving. Both the Watcher and the first boss in DN (twin trolls) was easily wiped by one persons misstake. And there was not really any instance to give you the needed training for the thoose kind of bosses.
Crafting in SoM seems to become very strong aswell!

to further that point let's go back to the watcher. Now from what I understand the raid has been changed since I've tried it so I don't know how salient or pertinent my example might be. However there was a part where everyone had to move to one side simultaneously and at the right time or else you would be dropped.
It started to become standard to leave and start again. This to me is not the right way to approach it. If one is dropped or several are dropped there should be a way to recover using one's "skills" as opposed to knowing it's an automatic wipe.
This is not to say that raids should not be hard. But there is a differene, in my mind, between hard and a bad roll of the dice that just says "game over".
Also, what was happening was the group leader would call out every step to insure that we followed the precise fight to the letter.
That to me is also very anti fun as a fight should have natural ebb and flow.
This is not to say that the raid should not have scripted elements but that those scripted elements should happen naturally depending on what is going on. To a certain extent this happened but again, having everyone move to certain parts of the map based upon what would happen next seemed sort of anti epic.

I've played a lot of Lotro over the last year and have 0 watcher kills to my credit... It's a pain but I imagine it would be pretty rewarding to get down. But then again I'm not in a raiding kin and have only tried him a few times. At least with SoM they are giving us a multi-boss raid to start with, and it's supposed to be pretty good. My first time in the Rift in SoA was borderline traumatic.... Some freak yelling at everyone... But I definitely had good times in the Rift, just have to find good groups to play with.

Im resubbing in a few days, not because of this, although it all looks very nice.
