New HoT Guild - Oprah's Book Club

 Oprah's Book Club

Guild History:

The original guild (Virginity Now) formed back in 1995 as an alliance between two neighbors in Upstate New York, who sought to play text based MUD's. However, once DAoC came out the young guild switched over. In DAoC we had some great success, but we lacked name recognition, a problem that would plague us for years to come.

Once EverQuest hit the shelves, the leadership was quick to jump boats, establishing Virginity Now, as a minor but influential group of players in the game, not everyone switched to EverQuest though. Some of the leadership stayed behind, and eventually splintered off into Peacetime, a guild we would eventually merge with in 2005. However that's a different story.

Having found success, in both EQ and EQII, we eventually grew tired of those games and on it's release day we joined WoW. Where we had a rocky start, eventually causing us to merge with our old friends at Peace Time. Reunited at last, we renamed ourselves Oprah's Book Club and also entered in to a new period of prosperity, in both WoW, and later on WAR. It has not been an easy journey, but it is one we hope to continue into HoT, with new and old members alike.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to have success in both the pve and pvp aspects of HoT. We plan on being in the forefront and have great success in anything we decide to do. We will be a strong guild. People will respect you when they see the guild tag under our name.

Expectations

We expect people to be mature. We do not have any age limitations, but if we see people acting immaturely they will be promptly asked to leave. We also expect people to be active. Although we do realize that people have families, jobs, or schooling and cannot play too many hours a week. We just ask that when you do play, you bring your A-game but most importantly, always have fun. We prefer if members have Ventrillo installed, but mics are not required. This will greatly help our communication allowing for more success. WARNING: There are no limitations on guild chat and vent, so if you do not like hearing/reading the occasional profanity, do not complain. Also, do not apply if you do not have a sense of humor.

To apply, head to our site at http://obc.mmoguildsites.com/

Vent channel coming soon!
