I like many of the new changes to WoW, BUT What The FUC happened to Lake Wintergrasp's Epicness?

tro44_1tro44_1 Member Posts: 1,819

WTF happen?

Dam Blizzard nerfed it into a damn BG and some shit. People stand around fishing and crap!!

And when Battles start, it was over faster then the battle started!! WTF the Epicness of LWG during Beta and Early WoTLK was elite. Now its nothing more then a lame feast.

Dam the Sieges are lame now. We can take down Keep Walls with nothing more then a few Catapults, (WHICH YOU CAN GET FROM RANK 1)!!!! DAMN

FTW---> n---->Mirror

/cry

Damn came back, and this is wat Blizzard did to something so epic. This SHIT Worst then Both Old AV and Current AV. Iad Rather play AV over this shit!!

Damn Iam not sure I can trust Blizzard with their hype over a new PvP zone in CAT. After seeing how many times Blizzard nerf the Elite Epic PvP game places (Old AV and Old Wintergrasp), this has gone too far.

And that new BG they added (isle of Conquest, or wat ever it called), if that was suppose to be their way of making up for the crap they turned Old AV into, and the shitty LWG,,, then BLIZZARD FAILED!!. I rather play Current AV over that crap also.

Blizzard better be glad iam banned from the main forum, cause I would have Rage spamed that shit.

Cant believe this crap. I come back after 10 months, and this the shit we get. Damn.

Lake Wintergrasp is pretty much the same now as it was when it was introduced.   The only thing that has changed is that people got tired of it and you no longer get the intensity that it had when it was fresh and new.

That. And it's capped at 100players/side now, so on most servers it's not a complete lagfest anymor either.

How many times do you think people can fight the same "epic" battle before it becomes routine? I venture into to Wintergrasp for only two things: herbs and the occasional Fishing Daily. To me it's just another zone.

That and the exploiting of the Rank system so one side is making an army of seige engines as soon as the battle starts.

But damn, the shit wasnt over that damn fast early on.

It was fun sometimes, I agree, but servers just blew up when 400+ people would come on populated servers.

It's already been explained, they exploited to get the victory using a bug that allows you to build Rank 2+ vehicles immediately upon the game starting.

You didn't take ANY keep walls down with catas, pay attention next time.

WG's problem was that it was too popular and was a lagfest every time the event started, blizzard tried various things to stop players grouping on the fortress but in the end they had to cap the population (during the siege) to 100v100 and thank god its now playable.

I am sue the new PvP Zone in Cataclysm will be much better, Blizzard have learned from WG and im sure it will far far better.

Blizzard said they dont plan to have a cap in the pvp zone in cataclysm as the design of the zone spreads players out across 6 objectives instead of just 1 as in WG. Time will tell.

When talking about PVP you can never really use the word Epic in the conversation, it never is.

Mostly average pretty much sums the situation through the game, no matter how you slice it.

One of the inherent limitations of the MMO form is that "epic" can't be replicated.  It's one shot, and you're done.  Doing it again doesn't give you the same feeling as the first time.

It's interesting that when I first explored Northrend on my main, it had a totally different feeling than when I did it on my alts, because...I'd been there before.  The magic of going from Dalaran to Dragonblight, picking up flight points, escorted by one of my higher level guildies is totally missing from taking my DK or Pally through.

You can't go home again.  Having done it once, you won't have the same experience as the next five times.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

Well, I completely disagree. WIth two sides who know how to paly, PvP can be very epic.

Unless it is hard-coded to prevent clustering, you will get too many in one spot at times.

Funny enough, even though I am on high pop server, we rarely got much over 100 players on either side even before the changes.  The horde was maybe 50 people and alliance was about 80 (2 raid groups) with a third raid picking up late-comers.

Nah, 3v3 at high ratings can be rather epic at times.

Yeah yeah, you hate WoW's PvP/small scale PvP/meaningless PvP/whatever but there are plenty of people who like that style of PvP since rated small-scale PvP was never done in a MMORPG so good like it was done in WoW.

Plus, it's actually pretty complex, compared to what you see in battlegrounds.

When it's over-done, PvP is mostly average. When there's tension building, when there's anticipation, when there's stakes involved, and when both sides are determined, then PvP can certainly be epic.
