can you co op(offline) Borderlands on PC ? i heard it' only for consoles?

so i was about to get Borderlands earlier today, but then i have some doubt if it can play LAN co op

 

because i heard some ppl say the LAN Co op is only available for Consoles and not PC?

 

some truth please? :)

    You've been mis-informed

    There IS a LAN option on the PC.

    Ya we play over the lan. But if ya wanna play over the net. You have to make a gamespy account or whatever. We had to open some ports up on the router to join a game from a friend invite who was hosting a private game. Once you get it going,  it plays great. Decent game.
