After all these years, there's still something to be said for Starcraft.
Not a big fan of Supreme Commander actually. Classic Starcraft is still amazing and would be up there as my top recommendation. Warcraft is a good RTS as well but I don't like the hero class type of game play.

i second Dawn of War 2. the campaign can be played cooperatively, plus it feels like an MMO.
Starcraft is old but still good.
Id have to vote for Supreme Commander as my favorite, with Total Annihilation right behind it.
