Final Beta Test Plans

In preparation for the imminent Final Beta Test of World of Warcraft, we will be shutting down the Closed Beta servers for maintenance and temporarily suspending the official forums within the next few hours. We regret the short notice, but are doing our utmost to roll out the Final Beta Test as quickly as possible. The downtime between the close of the current Beta and the start of the Final Beta Test will be kept to a minimum, although we are unable to reveal an exact start date at this time. However, we anticipate that this maintenance will only last a few days, whereupon the Final Beta Test will begin.

We will provide initial access to the Final Beta to those who attained a beta key through the official Blizzard pre-order campaign, as well current Closed Beta testers. These testers will maintain their existing account and characters. Additional testers will be included as the Final Beta moves forward.

More details regarding the Final Beta, including the start date, will be announced here shortly, so please stay tuned. We are working hard to bring you the next exciting phase of World of Warcraft as soon as possible.

If the FB lasts say 3 weeks

and the koreann beta lasts 3 weeks too, i might as well stay there and just go onto EU for a fresh retail.

Just wondering if anyone know when korean ends?

It still completely sucks cause blizzard aint giving an open beta like the US. Why should Europe have to pre order the game just to bloody try it, its ridiculous

I think it's still possible to get final beta copies of the game. At least here in DK, many shops have them. I just bought my beta kit a week ago or something...

mmmh, how you know there is no open beta?

Beside the fact that more people that just the pre-order guys will get in, nothing bars Blizzard to hold a open beta in the last week before retail, same as US.

Why cant we subscribe with other ways then only a credit card(for example Paypal).

Actually pre ordered because of a rumour that all characters for euro beta before final beta will be wiped and final beta characters will go live.

Well teach me to listen to rumours because its almost certain this will not happen .

I have the pre beta key but since i was in US beta for nearly 3 months or there about I have little intrest in the game till it goes live and the characters are permament.

Wonder if its too late to go to ebay and get £50 for the beta key hehehe(j/k mods).

Those that have pre-ordered World of Warcraft here in Europe will be able to take part in the Final Beta before those that didn't pre-order World of Warcraft.

Never believe rumors from the community about characters from final beta being transfered to the retail version of the game. All characters from the closed beta testers which are moved into the final beta and those characters from us that we will use in final beta will be wiped before World of Warcrafts moves into the retail stages. This happened in the US verison of World of Warcraft and it will happen here in the European verison and the same for the China and Korean version.

From experience as a long time MMO player for many years the overwheling number of new people to open beta always want there characters to be kept because "they can't be arsed to make a new one" for those that maybe reading this right now and thinking that here is a little word of advice DON'T PLAY THE FINAL BETA IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OF A WIPE.

I'm gonna resolve that by playing Alliance in the Final Beta and Switching to Horde in retail

Thats a great idea that people could try if they don't want to recreate the same character when it comes to retail. I on the other hand will be play the same character as I did in the US open beta, into EU final beta and then into retail.

Gives me even more time to understand the working of the character I'm going to play

Seems like alot of people missed the blue response before forum became closed.
ONLY people from previous beta phase & pre-order will be added to final phase -> no open beta & no more phases.

Also the characters from beta will be wiped.
