A guide on how to play this game? or how to get started?

    Yep. It's this brand new website called www.Google.com. It's really helpful.

    1) Start here: eve.battleclinic.com/guide/3510-BattleClinic-s-EVE-New-Player-Guide.html

    Be sure to bookmark Battleclinic's site and visit it regularly

    2) Do the tutorial. (Doing it twice isn't out of the question)

    3)  Find a good corp that takes new players, EVE University is the one I recommend.

    4) Do not assume the PVE content you basically do during your 14 or 21 day trial is representative of what your EVE experience will ultimately end up being, its only a  very small part and too many have walked away from the game not understanding this.

    5) Never fly a ship that you cannot afford to lose.

    6)  Always count your zeroes.

    7) When you lose a ship, (and you most certainly will) lose graciously and get in your back up ship (remember rule number 5?) and do it again, only correctly this time.

    8) Fly safe.
