Open RvR?

AvathosAvathos Member UncommonPosts: 155

I decided to put the MMO arguement in the past.

I have some question for those who are following this game very closely and believe this game will be huge.

1- How does the so called 60 v 60 works? Is there some sort of global meter that dictates the winner or loser based on the performance of each team?

2- Are there any plans to provide OPEN RvR in a near future?

3- What is the biggest # of people that can do PvE instance? 6, 12, 18? Anyone knows?

I think that the game is heading in the right direction by adding crafting elements, costumized gear, acution houses. Etc.

I do hope that in a near future a huge world is created where a free for all PvP is allowed. A placed where the quantity of players is dictated by hardware

From what I have been able to gather, it does not sound like there will actually be huge "60 vs 60" battles with 120 people on the same battelfield at the same time. What it sounds like is actually going to happen is that there will be multiple battles taking place at the same time with these 120 people split up between each battle. If one team wins one battle it may have a positive effect for their allies who are fighting on another battle field at the same time, but there does not seem to be a single battle field that can actually hold 120 people at the same time. I do not know for a fact that this is how it will work, this is just what I have been able to gather based on what the developers have said and what their FAQ says about this issue.

What exactly do you define as "open RvR" exactly? As I understand it in this game you will join an Agency, that Agency will join an alliance and that alliance will be able to attack (and be attacked by) other alliances. What would you like to see more "open" than that?

I haven't heard them say anything that would make me think the number of people in PvE instances will be any different from the number of people in a PvP instance. If I had to guess I would say that it will probably work like Guild Wars does where the number of people allowed into an area will be based on the size and difficulty of the area. Very low level areas may only allow 1-4 people, while much larger and more difficult end-game areas could require 6, 8, 10 or even more people.

And if you really want a "a free for all PvP" game where everyone attacks everyone all the time everywhere then I would suggest you go to Darkfall or wait for Mortal Online. Let us know how that goes for you.

The fact of the matter is that most people prefer MUCH more structured PvP than that. Total craziness where people kill you just to steal your stuff and then you never see them again is usually not fun for most people. This is why games like Global Agenda are created: To create a believable enviroment where two groups of people can have a fun and balanced battle with logical objectives.

I watched the dev videos on the site.  Seems like most if not all the game is instanced based.   The 60v 60 is like the above poster said.   You will not see 60 people on your screen.   The pve stuff according to the lead producer was 1 to 4 people. The pvp is 8 to 12.

The winner of the 60v60 is decided by the team with the most points at the end.

The raids are in stages, it's not just one map of point capturing. Can't really say much else about it due to NDA.

I think that "fact of the matter" is going to be tested on relase of the game.  I agree there is a lot more people playing games in structured instances like you mention. But most of those people besides people who play wow arena's  are doing so with games that do not require monthly subscriptions.

I personally prefer open world pvp because of ever changing factors that  create additional challegnes.  That being said people like me are in a minority when you consider all the people playing call of duty series, battlefield series, halo, counter strike, and ect.  I keep wondering if GA can get enough MMO wow arena minded people or convince enough FPS online muliplayer players to pay a subscription to be successful.
