Check out the studio tour and game preview and developer interview we did last month in Atlanta, Georgia!

I will be developing a Q&A for the community on the site and occasionally throwing them to developers for updates and news.

I have to say... pretty dissapointing.

This video really reveals no new information. It feels like this video exists just to hype the game by repeating all the same stuff we have already heard before. People who know very little or nothing about Global Agenda would get a nice "overview" of what the game is about by watching this, but those of us who already have been following the game for some time will probably notice that most of the gameplay footage used in this video is recycled from previously released videos. The "questions" he was asked all seem to be from the FAQ on their site (almost as if someone said off-camera before the interview started "you can only ask things that have already been anwsered by the FAQ")!

Who exactly was that female asking the questions during the interview anyway? She seems like she must be an employee of Hi-Rez because she was wearing a T-Shirt with their name on it and he kept talking to her like she worked there (comments like "as you know" or "as you have seen yourself" ect). I didn't think she was anywhere near aggressive enough during that interview. You can't let game developers do all the talking or they will never say anything you need to know, which is exactly what happened to this video.

I also notice that my question about STEAM was not asked. How hard would it have been to get this in there: "Hey, how is the distribution for this game going to work? Will players be able to buy traditional boxed copies of this game or is it going to be a digital download through STEAM only?" Or was that not on the list of 'approved' questions that was allowed to be asked during the interview?

About the only part of this interview that actually had me interested was when he mentioned how much focus they have on keeping this game PC only. But that was another piece of information we have already seen before...

    Sorry you are dissapointed..

Todd actually went into good deatail about merchants, credits and specific PVE and PVP enviorments.

The game is not being released on steam only.  One thing you people need to understand is that people can add any game they want to steam to show off to their friends that they have the beta.

Current testers at the studio have no relation to steam on their testing.  It is a standalone client.

As for the female, Jaimie.  We are part of the weekly testing team at the studio.  Jaimie has been testing since alpha.  We all have T-shirts.

Also, we would love to eventually get a walkthrough video up to explain the mechanics of actually playing the game.  NDA prevents that as of right now and is not possible.  I will be trying my best to squeeze any information I can from them for the community.  Patience my friend :)

    Anything else?

Yes! Quite a bit else actually.

You didn't respond to the fact that all the questions asked during the interview were almost identical to questions already posted on the official FAQ. Why were no new questions asked? Were you given a list of "acceptable" questions before the interview started?

You say that Steam will not be required for the final version of the game and that current "studio testers" are not required to use Steam. That struck me as a very "careful" anwser to my question.

Are current "non-studio" testers required to use Steam or are they able to access the beta without it? Are you suggesting that the only reason we see the game on Steam is because some people have chosen to add it?

Will the game be available though Steam in its final version? Will those who download the game through Steam be required to first log into Steam before accessing the game?

Will a normal digital download version of the game be available without Steam?

Will normal boxed copies of the game be available? Will I be able to buy them at online stores like Amazon? Will I be able to buy them at normal stores like Best Buy?

Does Global Agenda have a publisher?

What exactly is "Barn Gamerz" connection to Hi-Rez? How many of these "studio testers" are also working for BGZ? How did you all become "studio testers" in the first place? Are you paid for your work as testers? Do you receive any payment for using BGZ to hype Global Agenda?

A lot of questions I wanted to state were passing the line of their NDA.  I am sorry that some of the qestions were very general.  I know you guys want new footage and new questions answered.  I will be doing my best in the next few months.

Well, if you know steam mechanics, you would understand that tons of games do not require steam, but are played on steam anyway.  I, myself, have even added all games to my steam and launch all games through steam.

I cannot answer this as I am not part of the "non-studio" testers.

It is a big reason, yes.

Sorry if this is not what you want to hear, but publishing  and distribution is still being debated.  There will be a boxed version of the game.  Not JUST steam, if they decide to release it on steam in the first place.

Will a normal digital download version of the game be available without Steam?
    See above.

Will normal boxed copies of the game be available? Will I be able to buy them at online stores like Amazon? Will I be able to buy them at normal stores like Best Buy?
Yes, there are specific people working on box art for DVD version release.

Does Global Agenda have a publisher?
    This is still being debated.

What exactly is "Barn Gamerz" connection to Hi-Rez?
Nothing specifically.  My company is in Atlanta Georgia and so is Hi rez :)  They were friendly enough to let my camera crew in their developing area even if it was only minimal.

How many of these "studio testers" are also working for BGZ?
It is our hobby.  Nobody at the weekly testing are getting money for anything.  I have a full time job elsewhere and BGZ is just a hobby-oriented crew.  It is mainly just  a load of fun to play :)

How did you all become "studio testers" in the first place?
Connections?  Mainly, being near the studio is a plus.

Are you paid for your work as testers?
    No sir.

Do you receive any payment for using BGZ to hype Global Agenda?
I got a tootsie pop and a peppermint candy I was chewing on while carrying the camera.

What exactly does "debated" mean? Is Hi-Rez seeking a publisher for the game? Are there specific parties being considered? Is there a possibility they will attempt to release the game without a publisher?

I do not know specifics, sorry.

Reviewing and debating options is all I can give ya.
