EU Final beta start late december/jan

With the European launch of World of Warcraft just around the corner we're happy to be able to give details on the final stages of the European Beta Test process.

The current participants in the European Closed Beta Test will soon be able to try out the French and German localized versions of the game. The localized versions will be available for download in the upcoming days, and French and German localization forums will be available tomorrow, Thursday 16th 2004 for discussions and suggestions.

At the same time the localized versions are available, the European Closed Beta testers will be treated to an exclusive of the much awaited upcoming World of Warcraft patch, before it reaches the US and Korean servers. The patch will be available in the localized versions as well as English. More news about the contents of the patch will be available soon.

The Final Beta Test, which is currently scheduled for the end of December / beginning of January, will begin simultaneously in English, French and German. The start of the Final Beta Test will be the next time new testers will be welcomed to join the game.

We are pleased to announce that current Closed Beta testers will be transferred automatically to the Final Beta Test and there will be no deletion of characters between the Closed and Final Beta Test. The purchasers of the limited number of pre-order boxes sold through the official Blizzard pre-order campaign will also have access to the Final Beta Test and will be amongst the next phase of new testers to enter the game. In addition more players will be included during the Final Beta Test as more servers are added in preparation for the game launch in early 2005. Details on how to activate these accounts will be given on our website and we will inform you as soon as there is more information concerning the start date of the Final Beta Test.

    I just discovered it some minutes ago and I went directly to this forum and another one to post it but I wasn't quick enough ::::16::

    Oh well, @the topic: I HATE this. First "localized servers very soon" (sure, Its here now). BUT FB pushed back to beginning of Jan?! Becouse lets face it, they WON'T release it in late Dec. They just put "late dec" in becouse they want to keep our hopes up. Bastards...

    Im going home for xmas anyways so it doesn't really matter if final beta starts around 4 january for me :P. Cause i couldn't play on the new servers till then anyways.

    Yes, it`s a pain. I was hoping for FB before christmas. so was wife.

    Well better hope I get lots of books to read instead then :-)

    Hmm, fiddling with creditcard - renew DAOC or not renew DAOC? Urgghhhh...
    Already tried EQII, not my pint of lager..

    Maybe i can find me a beta or a free trial to pass time with. I am sure as **** not going to watch tv.

    Neas, can I loan your account over christmas then? I just want to check out the quests for a dwarven paladin so I can level up fast in the beginning of the Final beta to I can play at the same level as my friends. Im going away the 3rd, thats why :)

    heh nope :P. I dont even use it that much now. The server is full of lvl 60's.

    Im in the korean open beta at the moment so far i've played quite a few different version of WoW just so that i can test the character on a 'fresh' server.

    What I've Played (chronoligal order)

    1. American Stress Test 1: Lvl 14 troll hunter, lvl 21 Tauren Warrior
    2. Eu Closed Beta: Lvl 9 mage, lvl 8 paladin, Lvl 31 Undead Rogue (main)
    3. American Stress Test 2: Lvl 23 tauren Warrior
    4. Korean Open Beta: Lvl 11 Orc SHaman, Lvl 6 Gnome Rogue.

    Heh im just using them to test multiple characters out. I mean Korean Open Beta is open after all :). Just got to know a korean 'friend' :).

    I just saw it too.... why does it always take a longer period of time to release something then they say .. I do understand that they need to fix it up more.. but still if its eventually going to be early jan then dont ever say its gonna be early dec.. just say it will be in dec or something, cant proove ur wrong then image
    Really annoying especially cause i already got hooked on the game due to US Open Beta :P

    I for one am very disappointed i pre orderd the game so i could play in the vacation... dont have much time in week days so i was really looking forward to it..

    I'm not worried because I've got Matrix Online to pass the time until World of Warcraft FB starts, got my pre-order box behind me just waiting.

    yes disappointing that blizzard have pushed it back inconviniencing many people who hoped to play in FB before christmas. I myself have important exams early jan so FB time is strictly limited. But if the servers aren't ready yet, guess nothin we can do aboot it image

    I must say im both happy and sad. Sad because i wanted to play the final when i bought the preoder kit 26 Nov.

    Happy because im going to Kiruna for X-mas, and then i wont be able to play (only 56K modem connection). So nobody will be able to get a head start on me image

    (Kiruna is a little town in the north of Sweden which holds the worlds deepest iron mine and also have a space base for european spaceprograms. In the winter it is dark around the clock and in the sommer the sun is up around the clock. Yes, i know nobody cares, just wanna promote it a little anyway image )

    Personaly I think the reason it's pushed back is the fact those who ordered off the "offical site" aka gameplay.co.uk with a link to a remote webby. STILL hasn't recived their Pre order packs. Last news I heard is that they are coming in to the UK on the 16th.

    No doubt if they are all out before then they MIGHT open it up for christmas...

    well you know blizz and the way they dont tell you anyhing they just keep the mouth shut just be glad that they told us anything  but yes i agree whit you but there is just nothing we can do but wait just becouse they did a french and german version.

    Never knew a game from blizzard that isn't pushed back. Was hoping they wouldn't do it with WoW but oversea they all are playing hapely while we get a date at late december/jan. Oh well I got my key from the pre-order and at the moment playing Vampire - The masquerade: Bloodlines and got battle for middle earth as well to keep me occupied and when I need a rest and not hasted and to much looking I launch Leisure Suit Larry for a good laugh ::::06::

    Well, it's dissapointing, but as Neas I wont be able to play until the end of December/Beginning of January anyways. Still angry with Blizzard EU for delaying though image

    blah! if the FB starts beginning of januari how long is it going to last?! i live in the netherlands and its supposed to be in story the 14th of januari.... not gonna make it i guess ::::16:: sigh i have a no mad at blizz policy though. I wont get mad... i wont.... i hope::::18::

    What i am pleased about is that we get one over on the american! finally we get one of the patches before they do! Might even have battlegrounds in it

    well i suppose that is expected, i mean koreans and americans will prob be paying customers while eu is beta testing stil.

    Still the patches rarely do anything major. Their internal testing is great unlike some other games i know of *cough* ryzom* *cough* horyzom* cough*.

    What i dont understand is that US and Korea get an Open Beta while Europe gets a "final beta" which u can only enter if u pre-order the game. Do correct me if im wrong,  cause i thought i read that on wow-europe forums. I understand that they dont need to give us a open beta but i still feel like europe gets fucked....

    they said its not limited to preorder people. It might be a limited open beta.

    And the american open beta wasn't fully open beta, it was also limited to a number. I got myself an account, but the download was to slow. It would have cost me 1 day and a few hours to fully download it. So gave my account away to someone I knew that had more patients as me ::::02::

    And to be honest I have never seen a definite date on blizzards official sites when FB would start. At least we will pay for a more finished game then the americans that are paying now ::::18::
