This is what happens when you don't occasionally take out your dreads and clean them. There's a whole viable ecosystem in there now, the center of that mat is quite literally more of "something(s) else" than hair.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Don't be jealous guys, if you sat in a chair for many hours a day and didn't wash your hair, you too could have a glorious mane like that - it just takes extreme dicipline. Look at the erect manner in which that person is seated - I've rarely seen a person so regal - that is not the mangy locks of matted hair which you all claim... it's a crown.

Ha! I am sure you can track most of his life with his hair the same way you can tell how old a tree is, by observing the layers. This dude was blond before going homeless, then you can see he dived face first into hard crack and messed his life beyond imagination and then had a hearth attack of some sort and became a street hobo. I see 3 distinc sections in his hair, could go up to 4.
He keep it like that because seeing his blond hair remind him of his past life. (Probably a VP somewhere in a big tower)
