Release an official legal PSX/SNES emulator? For like 20-60 bucks and all the games that you could buy in bundles for like 20$ of a series from a developer or so on? Are they so concerend with milking every last cent of their customers that they need to have everything on the PSN and Wii channel for expensive prices and the 200-400$ cost of the system.
I personally like to play single player games on the computer from time to time and it would be cool if I could have a legal emulator with legal roms/ISO's to play on. I just feel kind of wrong playing them when the companies put a lot of hard work into some of those quality titles ( Even when It's games I already bought years ago but no longer currently own), even though pretty much all of those companies have more then enough money.

I hate my parents for having sold all of my sega mastersystem + nes + turbografx16 system + sega cd..
Wow, I sure was a spoiled kid now that I think about it.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
Sadly when I was younger I always wanted to get the next new system that came out and I would sell all of my old games/trade them so I could offord it. Man did some of those mom and pop videogame shops rip me off, I was little though, didn't know the worth of some of those snes games etc.
I personally want a legal rom and emulator. I mean, it's such a beauty to play classics in the convenience of your own PC. But two things concern me.
1. Originally, the two makers make consoles (hardware) right? But if this is to happen, then they're making softwares instead (one representing the console, and one representing the cartridge/CD). I dont know if they'll consider that.
2. I've seen a title like Chrono Trigger being ported to the DS with additional features. I mean, CT had a remake in PSX already, and now DS. If they continue to have this "porting" mentality, then all of our emulator dreams are down the drain.
Just my two cents buds
Its kind of a slap in the face since they are hardware manufacturers. I would love for them to do it, and they would probably profit from it. However, somehow I think they resent the thought despite already developing the software for devs to use. Sony could probably benefit from selling a PS3 emulator. It would definetly increase their sales.
A lot more money in Wii's Wii Channel, PSP's PSX ports PS3's PSN and 360's XBLA.
Console hardware is secure hardware (unmodified). There's no incentive whatsoever to develop emulation on PC where piracy is rampant and the revenues wouldn't be the same.
Except as a thank you to their fan base that supported and bought so much from them for all of these years. But that would be too much to ask for I guess
