Nursery woman, 39, on child porn charge

NURSERY worker Vanessa George was charged today with seven offences including sexual assault and making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.

Some of the images of children which triggered the arrest of the 39-year-old nursery worker were allegedly taken inside her day care unit, police said today.

At a press conference this afternoon, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed their investigation was focused on the alleged exchange of material between George, from Plymouth, and Colin Blanchard, 38, from Littleborough, near Rochdale.

Disturbing

Blanchard was yesterday charged with possession and distribution of indecent images.

Senior officers told the press this afternoon that they were currently looking at a "small number" of images on a camera phone, some of which they believed were taken inside the Little Ted's nursery in Laira, Plymouth.

Detectives leading the investigation said it was a "significant and disturbing situation".

Russ Middleton, head of CID, said: "It's safe to say we believe some of the images were taken in the nursery."

Chief Superintendent Jim Webster, from Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "This investigation is fast-moving and now confirmation has been received of evidence leading to the charges today.

"It a significant and disturbing situation and the position is made even more difficult that identification of the children in the images is very difficult. There are many that contain the images of torsos.

"As we go through the painstaking task of identifying who may be concerned, we are focusing on communication with the families we believe are involved."

Mr Middleton added: "At this time we have been unable to identify any images of individual children and it is right to say some images may never be identified.

"We are treating this investigation very seriously."

Mr Middleton added: "The reason we mention torsos is to give an indication of how difficult it is going to be but hopefully we can work on it."

Police gave no indication as to when Little Ted's, which caters for about 60 children, will reopen.

Mr Middleton said: "It is safe to say that some of the images were taken within the nursery but others... it is impossible to say where that may be."

When asked whereabouts in the nursery, he added: "It would not be appropriate to say."

Officers were still speaking to staff at Little Ted's and parents of children who attended.

Around 100 people attended a meeting last night at St Paul's Church in Plymouth where district commander Chief Superintendent Jim Webster spoke to parents and those associated with the nursery.

The arrest of George, a mother of two, followed that of Colin Blanchard, who appeared at Trafford Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged with possessing and distributing indecent images.

Officers said computer equipment, including a disc containing images of "a serious nature", were among the items seized during its operation.

Officers have refused to confirm that the images involved children at the nursery.

Children in the nursery are aged between two and five, but youngsters up to 11 can attend breakfast and after-school clubs.

Worried parents dropping children off at the nursery yesterday were handed letters explaining that a staff member had been arrested and it was closed.

Your like a bad version of foxnews or fark.com.  You don't offer any opinon on the matter and I can't figure out why you do it.  I can only assume that half the time your just trying to increase  your post count.  Exactly how hard is it to read what you've posted and give an opinion.  Are ctrl-v and ctrl-c the only keys you know how to work on a consistent basis?

Whats wrong with him just posting the news story for everyone to see? He does not need to give a opinon he can simply post it here for others to give theirs.

While i agree with the spirit of your responce could you please tone down the language and dont let Sargoth get to you.

I however love it when someone posts stuff like this for discussion. Its way more interesting than the latest  " Obama is the antichrist", topic

EDIT:- As for the article yea i live in the UK so this has been on the news lately. Pretty shocking really i feel sorry for all the parents who has a child at that place, as your child is likely it seems to be in one of those photos. I hope she gets the maximum sentence for some of the things she did [such as the soddomy].

Talk about ironic statement.  Seems you are just doing what you are claiming the OP is doing.  If you don't like it, then don't even click on the thread.

If he is just posting links and copies of articles, I myself consider it spam and don't think it belongs here.  Since I don't have any sway one way or the other, the easiest is to ask him to give an opinion.  Exactly what is wrong with that?  I'm honestly suprised how many of you just blatantly support him and don't expect an opinion from the oringinal poster either.

    Jesus Sargoth...

He's posting the article so people can discuss it so he can observe and participate in said discussion. That's why it's a forum.

Rather than making a post titled

"Nursery woman, 39, on child porn charge"

then the contents being.. "What do you think about this?"

Then there would be about 15 posts replying will bullshit like.. "What is this about? What article? Where did this happen?"

    .. and so on.

See how that works? People can read the article right there and respond immediately.

It is extreme, I feel I am an extemist on this myself. It's the rightful extremism however.

Rape is akin to murder, and that's real talk. Once a person is raped they lose certain aspects of themselves and are worse still haunted by it for the rest of their lives. Supression helps but even then it's treating a symptom of the problem.

That is why I feel justified in saying, kill every last goddamned one of em and leave the crows to eat the rest.

    --------------------------------------------

Now onto the dude wah wahing about this guy reposting material.

    Are you %@#^ing new here?

Have you never been on a message board ever?

You arguement is as stupid as your attacking the original poster.

People do this all the time, and ASSURED media companies appreciate this. This is called spreading the news and giving the source.

At this point any arguement you make just makes you sound like a spiteful prat.

He isn't posting the article as though he wrote it.

Click the Sun it's there. Your arguement has no valid point.

At this point you just sound like a fool. Which case I take offense at as that's my job and I see you as trying to take my job.

The forums here are called Discussion Forums.  Posting an article with copy n paste does not constitute discussion.  Giving the link and an opinion on the article provides discussion.  Is that hard to understand?

Is it just me, or is this whole news story oddly lacking in details? I've seen a bunch of articles on this, but not one of them sheds any light on what exactly was in those pictures... Considering the USA has a long history of jumping to wild conclusions about purported child abuse, could they at least assure us the pics in question were more than a couple kids in a swimming pool wearing bathing suits? Because so far, theres been no word of what she is actually accused of.

In the USA we have cases like:

    - A mother being arrested because she took a photo of her nude 1 year old child in a bathtub.

    - Teenagers being charged with distribution of child porn because one sent the other a topless pic of herself via mobile phone.

You could go on all day with examples of our absurd legal system. I'm not saying she isn't guilty, but then, what is she even being accused of? It's a strange story in that there's no information to draw any conclusion from.

This story apparently took place in the UK where they're a little bit more hard nosed about this sort of thing. It's illegal for UK pornographers to even put female performers in pigtails and schoolgirl outfits or create scenes that might even suggest that the woman is under the age of consent, even though she very obviously is over the AOC in real life. The hysteria around pedophilia here in the US is nothing compared to the panic that's been going on in the UK since around 2000.

At one point a pediatrician was was attacked by vigilantes because "pediatrician" was too similar to the word "paedophile." A British comedy show even lampooned the phenomenon and ended up a nationwide scandal!!

So yeah, I'm kinda wondering "what the hell?" as well...

If this is legit though, this case is very newsworthy. Having this kind of thing run out of a daycare center is rare enough, but to have a female producing the porn and running the trading ring (there is no kiddy porn "industry" in the commercial sense of the word)!! That's almost completely unheard of!

I've come from forums that expect people to give an opinion on the subject matter that they are presenting.  Otherwise, a copy and paste job is considered spamming, and according to the rules here, it's not allowed if he justs pastes the entire story.  I probably would never have given it a second thought but I have recieved extreme language in the replies from the poster.   He has brought this on himself and if I see more posts where he does not inject an opinion I will continue to carry on my task and not particularly care what anyone has to say about it.

Doesn't bother me too much, but if you feel he's violating it, you should report him and let the mods handle the rest. He comments once in awhile but mostly it just looks like he likes to post stories and read other people's opinions without giving his own.

You'll see that the article came from the "Sun" newspaper, a famous British tabloid well known for putting sensationalism before fact. Not saying she's innocent or anything, but the Sun is a dreadful source for "news".

Yep, in the UK people are petrified of pedophiles, and the fucking vultures in the media whip it up even more until the more gullible see a sexual predator around every corner. I can't even take photos of my newphews playing over the park if there are other kids there nowadays!

I don't know who to feel more disgusted with, the media for playing on people's fear and stupidity, or people for being so bloody stupid and gullible in the first place.

A significant amount of the pedosexual population is made up of females, although estimates vary.  When the spotlight is shed from males working professionally with children, to all people working professionally with children (of which many, many more are women), you can bet there will be a lot more cases like these appearing. People are always suspicious of men working with children - but forget that partially due to that, there are much, much more females working with children. Statistically, the number of women abusing children in the workplace might even be far higher than men.

This topic is at heart to me because a niece was sexually abused with a male classmate by two of her female nursery careworkers, many years ago. They were made to pose nude together in many disgusting poses, and pictures were taken. The blame was initially put on the male principal (simply for being the only male there!), who after much more investigating, turned out to have absolutely nothing to do with it, not even knowing that abuse continued on for weeks/months.

You both do know, that the story is from a British news source, has nothing to do with a NA source at all.
