What games are you looking forward to?

DerrialDerrial Member Posts: 250

Now that E3 has come and gone, what games on the horizon are you looking forward to playing, be they MMO or otherwise?  There seems to be quite a lot of good games coming up, or at least a lot of games with high potential.  Here's my list of games I'm most impatiently waiting for:

Assassin's Creed 2

Beyond Good & Evil 2

Mass Effect 2

Tales of Monkey Island

Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition

Star Wars: The Old Republic

The Saboteur

Dragon Age: Origin

Alan Wake is probably what I'm looking forward to the most; mostly because I think the story will be there and gameplay unique.

Mass Effect 2 comes in next; I'm sure the story will be great and the universe is supposed to be more open.

The Saboteur I'm hoping will be a good replacement for the lack of any GTA this year (besides the 360 DLC).

For online multiplayers, I might try MAG. One thing I noticed during the E3 Presser though that people were learning experience points by killing each other. Progression and development aren't new to recent online FPS games, but I kind of wonder if it'll be more drastic and involving considering these are 256 person matches instead of the quick spurts of gameplay we're used to.

I liked the Forza 2 online experiment, so I'm looking forward to Forza 3. I've never been a fan of driving games; at least not the ones where you're advantaged by having a wheel peripheral. So long as Forza 3 is a good experience on the controller and the online community is still good, I'll like it.

On the PC end of things, I'm saving any excitement for APB and Star Wars The Old Republic since they don't have any dates yet. I'm actually intrigued by what's coming this year though; JumpGate and Champions Online. Don't know if they'll work out, but better than the last few year of fantasy hack and slash molded MMOs. I consider 'em the advent of the new generation of MMOs coming out that seem focused on first-person shooting, super heroes and space. All fine to me.

No love here for Prototype? This game looks great and it comes out this month. Hopefully it will be as good as it looks.

None, Nada, Ziltch......what is this, revenge of the clones? Most of the games I see up have a number after them. Doesn't anyone do anything original?

Take The Sims 3, had the possibilitiy of being a great game. They finally let your character out to waunder the neighborhood.....only to find there's no pimps, ho's, crack dealers, or homeless winos exposing themselves. What the heck kind of a neighborhood is this anyway.......BORING!

And, after two prior games, they still haven't added guns and nudity to the game. What gives with that?

And the houses, no overgrown yards, doors torn off the hinges, broken windows, copper pipe rippoff, abandoned homes.

    Like, what's the point?

Sigh.....maybe 2010 will bring some good quality original games........

Quite a few games up there neither sequels or clones. But that'd depend on your definition of 'clone'. If for example Dragon Ages and The Saboteur, or APB and Champions Online come off as too similar experiences to you, then that's a pretty damned bleak outlook.

Have you ever fought atama weapon with only 3? My god since that time I hate Shadow. That douche ditched me just before the boss.

Aion and The Old Republic here. Unfortunately there are really no single player games I'm looking forward to right now, on either the PC or 360.

I'm thinking of getting The Orange Box. I might actually find out what this "cake is a lie" stuff in all about. I just got Medal of Honor 10th Anniversary.
