Up until now, adventurers wishing to make a comeback from early retirement have had to wait for the limited-time event, the Welcome Home to Vana'diel Campaign, to swing around. But due to popular demand, from today onwards, we are proud to announce that this long-serving campaign has been succeeded by a permanent feature: the "Character Reactivation Service"!
Unlike the Welcome Home to Vana'diel Campaign of old, no bonus items will be distributed to users of this new service. However, we feel that this will be more than compensated for by the fact that your retired heroes can be restored to active service whenever the itch for adventure overwhelms you!
Seven glorious years have passed since adventurers began striking out for the far reaches of the ever-evolving realm of Vana'diel. What exciting changes has the world undergone since you last set foot upon it? There is only one way to find out!

I have been trying to re-activate my character on this game with very little luck, I stopped playing between 3-5 years ago
So I went through it and at the end it stated that I simply needed to resubscribe through the play online gidgit in order to get in
then you hit another problem, not having played for so long I know my Username, my Playonline id but not my password
Hence straight abck to square one, Have tried Square CS support, after 3 hours of waiting I got bored, un-installed the game and went out into the fresh air
shame the re-sub process is soooo convoluted, on any other MMO it takes me 10-30 misn to get my password to access subs section to play the game, Square seem to make it as difficult as possible

I laughed when I realized that they went from "Character Reactivation Service" to "Hero Revival Service" towards the end.
