I don't know the details, but I'll just give you this advice, and if it doesn't apply then ignore it:
Fight for your life. If a doctor isn't willing to help you fight, tell him you want another doctor who is. If a hospital is not willing to help you fight, move to one that is. It is your life and not theirs, so it is your fight and not theirs. Do whatever you need to do to help you fight. Be an inconvienence to whomever you need to... Step on the toes of the doctors if you need to... Use them to help you fight, and if you find them lacking, tell them, and demand better of them or better than them, because they are failing you.
You've disagreed with some of us on this forum over certain issues - why are you so willing to agree with a few doctors when the end result of this latest arguement must be so unjust and unappealing to you?
Fight and be a terror.
"The liberties and resulting economic prosperity that YOU take for granted were granted by those "dead guys"
Wow - it has been quite a while! Too long, if you ask me, and I am sorry we haven't kept in touch. I admit the news threw me off though your approach does not.
I'd post like the others about fighting this, but from what I remember of you Dekron, you're a fighter. You wont let this get you down and you're gonna finish it swinging (fighting).
If I could, i'd like to make a request: live the time you have left as you did before it - "Live, Love and Laugh", brother. Keep faith that you'll make it through this.
The world is a better place to have known you and so am I.
Stay strong!

I don't know you either sir. But I hope your faith was with Jesus Christ. I hope you find him if you haven't. And if it is your time I hope you made peace. Good luck in your endeavors and enjoy your life.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Reminds me of a bouncer at the bar door, you aint coming through unless you come through me. Sorta ironic a bit later he brings out the fact that some have the law written on there hearts and never knew him and still get in. Thats like saying, some aint christians but are still loved because against all odds they still have the same good laws and purposes and make it. Make it where.. well thats up to discussion lol.
All I can say is, Good fortunes with all ya. Hehe never know what side your on tell the battles wages and deaths one hell of a battle!
Man I think I need to give this forum a break... seems like a bunch of us are heading out.
Sorry to hear this Dek. You and I have debated back and forth a few times, but it was typically civil and your arguments were coherent and well stated. Good luck with your battle.
I have not been here for long but i have taken a dislike to you because of some of your threads/Post.All people will never see eye to eye, that's just the way of the world but i really do hope you pull through.
is there anything we can do for you, before you go?
Put aside petty differences. We are all humans who want the same fulfillment in life, we just choose alternate paths.
We all come to this site everyday for our own reasons - whether it be to speak our mind, to vent our frustration or simply to speak to a friendly, or at times, not so friendly, crowd. We have our ups and downs, ins and outs and yes, even our side to sides. This, like any brick or mortar commonality, is our community. Respect each other - you may disagree, but keep it within the boundaries of courtesy.
Looking into the possibility of one's own mortality makes you think of the important elements in life.
Forty-two is the answer - it's your responsibility to figure out the question.
Thanks for the kind words.
Edit: And, before anyone asks the proverbial question, no, you can't have my stuff.

Damn talk about an old face or should I say old faces. We all hear for you Dek.
I don't post often anymore, and I'm not sure if you remember me - but that does not matter. I was very shocked and sad to read this post, and I don't know what to say. When someone who likely won't be with us for a very long time tells you to 'live life to the fullest' and 'put aside petty differences', it makes a large impact. Even though it sounds cliché, I simply wanted to post to say that the message came through and has already made a difference.
In any case, farewell in the truest sense of the word.
You know, I didn't start believing in fate until a few years ago. But now, more than ever, I think it is prevalent.
I stopped posting for a while, because I had realized that my post count had reached 999. I realized that a poster's 1000th post is something special, like an ascention, a rite of passage. So, I waited, to see precisely what I would use it on, what would be the threshold to deliver me into that bracket. I waited, and I waited, and nothing seemed right. It all seemed... trivial.
But seeing your thread here today, it made my concept of the 1000th post even more trivial. Like, I held some stupid scrap of elitism, in an electronic arena. And perhaps, that is just what it is.
However meaningful/meaningless it might be, I would like to dedicate my 1000th post to you, Dekron. We didn't know each other very well, we weren't friends, or anything like that. But I held a great deal of respect for you as a senior member, as somebody who certainly spoke with knowledge, and not of ignorance. I wish you the best, and I hope that the time you have left is well spent.
I wrote a poem a few days ago for friends who were graduating and leaving, but once again, as fate would have it, I found it very fitting;
An ode to friends gone by
I nod to comrades of a forgotten era.
To people whose presence brought the day to us.
Resplendent spirits of the rarest kind.
Fellow people on the battlefield of transition.
Like floating, aimless joy.
Balloons on the horizon of a forlorn landscape.
Without anchor, but laden with much.
To you, my friends,
I owe honor, recognition,
Sweet reverence for sacrifice.
I give the Purple Heart
Of a grateful man.
I send you off.
A salute.
Bittersweet sorrow of memories gone,
Laughs in halls of time.
An empty casket,
In an imaginary pyre.
But still, I salute your passing.
I smile,
Pride, reluctance, and love
They fill me.
And they let me know,
That my service wasn't for naught.
Goodbye,
And let the ashes of those memories
Bring life to new beginnings.
Good luck, and may the Fates smile upon you and your family.
Wish you only the best Dekron. I was having a really terrible day today, but reading your post earlier put things in a little better perspective and I did something today that probably changed my life...
Thank you for this Dekron, and for all the other contributions you made to the forums. You've been around a long time and we're gona miss you.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
Dekron, don't give up just yet. You just realized the true way to enjoy life. Try not to think of when you are going to pass, but just do what you enjoy and live life like every day is your last.
I could write this, sign off and go to sleep and never wake up. It is upsetting to be told when your ticket is up, but remember it is really an estimate. I never trust what doctors say. Especially when they make a guestimate and act as if it is a fact.
NEVER GIVE UP! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! WHOOHOO! Live it up! Enjoy every touch, every smell, every sight as if it were your last and when it is your time to pass, you can flash back to one hell of a time.
is there anything we can do for you, before you go?

Sorry to hear the news man, plenty of people have been through situations we wonder how the hell we survived, but to hear that your terminal from a doctor has to be completely mind numbing.
do yourself a favor don't make don't let this turn the rest of your life no matter how long bitter.
If i still prayed i would pray for you

"Life" by Jodie Cooke
Life is hard,
Life is tough,
You need to be strong,
And never give up
There may be days,
That never seem to end,
And you feel like you,
Don't have a friend,
But keep on walking
Down that road,
Your friends will follow
And bear your load,
But face each day,
And what it brings,
And you'll be ready,
To face any thing.
Every minute of every day is another little bonus.
Always something new to look forward to.
Thanks for taking the time to spam with me over the years, keep it rock and roll old son.
I took this in 2004 and I found it while trying to find some old pictures to show my girlfriend. You can see Dekron posting:
