Shamans are the most insanely powerful class ever and I love it. I can consistantly solo mobs that are 4-5 lvls higher than me at lvl 20. All I do is throw on a lightning shield, med up, toss down a stoneskin, pull, use a seering totem, toss down healing totem, melee (with rockbiter), use earthshcok as mana allows and replace lightning shield as allowed. All of my talnets are in enhancement in like stoneskin totem and in the mana increasing jobby...this game is badass.

Its nice that you found how to use your Shaman most effectively.. I don't think its overpowered, but thats debatable of course.
With my Warlock I was killing creatures much higher level than me too (easy to keep them at a distance) and with my rogue it was pretty much the same.
I suppose that if you're effective in combat you can kill creatures of higher level. That is, as long as its one of them. As soon as there's a second one, you're quite done for
In the end, this game is not about the solo'ing. Its about the groups, raids and epic quests and such. I think Blizzard doesn't even care much for the solo part of the game, except it needs to be there to support all the non-groupies.
Keep at it, and you'll find yourself level 60 before you know

So I pre-ordered the UK WoW so I can get into the Euro beta, but b4 that I was in the US beta. In the US beta i was a NE hunter, which was pretty cool and I'll probably be that come the Euro release. But I have decided for the Euro beta I would pick a different race and class, just so I can mix it up a bit.
My first feeling was to go for a warlock, but seeing as they only wear cloth items I got looking at the shaman class. Now I wanted to be on The Horde and a undead char, but undead cant b shamans, so I would be a troll shaman (probably).
So I just wanna get some feedback on the shaman class, and warlocks, just to let me know abit more of how they play. Thanx...

you are right shamans have the best abilties. Most people think paladins are overpowered... their cousin the shaman is much more powerful, ability to buff himself, heal himself and others, use melee weapon and shield and go into wolf form PLus the spell which interrupts Spell casters generally make him a very good pvp char and a very good solo char. Compared to a Warrior he is godlike.

Hey Neas you playing in the US at the moment, or are you one of us Euros whos trying to find a way of getting the US retail and play on their servers. Even though you have pre-ordered the UK retail so you can get into Euro beta, just in case ur plan fails, lol.
Sorry bout that little rant just that every Euro, Ive met (like myself), have gone to some stupid lengths to get WoW, when we should realise we should just w8, play Euro beta and then enjoy life on the Euro or US server come Jan or Feb.

I wasn't flaming him by saying he should w8, im saying all players that cant play WoW should just w8. Im only saying this to be positive, because I am also in a position where I cant play the retail version until Euro release.

I am currently in EU beta i dont really think Shamans are overpowered i think they are just one of the classes that are completely completed. Some of the other classes really need to be balenced a bit more then it will all even out and everything will be gravy!

I want to play the game as much as any1, but I dont like ppl(or Blizzard) telling me where I should play (US, Euro etc). Im sure u know what I mean

I wanted to play WoW i ordered from the US, but the stock ran out and said they couldnt send me a copy. Which in a way could have been a good thing because I dont think I would have got in anyways...
But i imagine you ordered the UK retail so you can get into retail, so I hope to see you there...

I bet he is on PVE server (most people are hehe :P). PVE - HIGH LOAD PVP - LOW LOAD ^ ^.

I wouldnt go to american server... nope. I have a T3 connection (im at university so im on the JANET5 network) and my pings to american server during open beta where 197-300 ms. That was when it didnt lag like mad.
IN EU i get a ping of 19 ms - 45ms. Basically its a lag free thing
for us europeans.
Also its fraudulent to fake ure address and or cc number. Im pretty sure moast countries give you jail time for it. Besides if blizz found out youd faked it then im sure your acc could go bye bye.
I also prefer playing with people in my own timezone as in the current server. Generally the open beta wasn't good for my health cause id always stay up till 2-3 am every night.
Still I doubt that ALL europeans have gone to the US servers the majority will have stayed... as evidenced by the fact the CE edition on gameplay.com sold out in less than 4 hrs :P.
And the other standard sets sold out in 1.5 days.
So i wouldnt worry about that :P.

Oh and to answer your original question:
Nope i dont play shaman. I know it IS the best class to choose. But theres a balance between being powerful and enjoying yourself.
It just boild down to i dont enjoy the playstyle of these hybrid classes.
It can heal, it can put totems down, it can bash mobs, some totems fire fireballs, some buff him, some heal him.
Generally he is a warrior without the warrior combat skills and mail armour BUT with healing spells, totems that can add damage or buff him AND he can turn into wolf form to run fast etc.
But i dont enjoy playing it heh.
Also a shaman is generally a good party person, generally being able to take a bit of damage, heal himself and others and resurrect... makes him a good party addidtion.
Me i just prefer the rogue
. Rogue is so stealthy in nature... sure i might not be able to kill mobs more than 2 lvls higher than me in solo but still i just LOVE the gameplay element.
After all WoW is down to your enjoyment not JUST how 1337 and powerful a class is :P.
ALso ive heard Hunters are a good addition now they got talents some of their skills stack with mineral searching so they can find minerals easier.

Thats funny. I play as a Tauren and as an Undead. I have done tons of quests on both sides of the pond. I think they are all a blast to do. The undead stuff is unique, that is for sure. But the barrens has its moments as well. It is all in what you like to do. I like ranging in mountains/plains, but I like the stories the undead tell.
