damian7 it is not like the Devs have ignored the problem... a bunch of changes has gone through the game with the explisit task of curbing farming and powerleveling. But this is on a sacle never seen before.. it is to widespread for a simple remove X change Y so they have to take bigger actions... Simply you have by now argued your self in to a corner and you can not get out. By your last comparson you have invalidated your point on a larger scale and i see no futher point in discussing this with you. But to sum it up.

I think you are wrong, Your have the right to be wrong, I am not going to change your oppinion for it is yours to have. I support Paragon Studios in the way they handel this situation. You detest Paragon studios for their way of handeling things.

At this i leave you to go were ever you like.

This have been a good conversation

I hate to tell you this but in the real world that fat diabetic will roll away in a BMW on the way to his new mansion supplied by Hershey.  Have you ever seen the phone books that have a warning posted on them that say "don't eat this?". That is probably because someone tried to do exactly that and then tried to sue the company for not telling them. That stupidity aside, everyone remember the slob that spilled coffee on themselves in McDonalds? The rules weren't clearly defined and people in the real world hire lawyers to exploit those rules every day. Not saying it's morally right but most of those "snowflakes" will do just fine. If your a business you have to clearly define your rules for the dumbest of the dumb and the most immoral of the cheaters.

I leveled a few characters from 1-17 using the meow farms. Honestly they were really not that bad when considered next to the NARF missions. Those missions had a bomb in every group of comm officers. Charge in, attack the bomb, 95% of the spawn dies. Huge xp from that with nearly zero risk. THOSE are the farms posi is talking about. Calm down and read what he posted without all the rage and you will see that he is not going to go around banning all farmers.
Yes people farm for things, inf, purple ios, salvage. The difference is they use a mission that has not been created with specific mobs and goals that skew the risk/reward ratio to far one way or the other. People have farmed battlemaiden for years and nothing was done about it. When salvage and ios were introduced people farmed demons for arcane salvage drops. There will always be farming, but to expect an exploit that makes farming a zero risk/high reward endeavor is just delusional. To expect people who blatantly took advantage of said exploit to not have some form of punishment leveled against them is just retarded.

This pretty much sums up my problem. This guy says that rules are black and white but then says Positron said that those who used those exploits may lose some of what they gained? Hmm....Doesn't sound black and white? Once he says some people might lose some of what they gained and that some people might lose some of what they created, it's gray area. Some of this? Some of that? That's not clear cut black and white rules and punishment.

To use the old speeding reference from a few pages back, a cop will tell me I'm speeding and what the punishment is. Posi can go ahead and swing the banhammer for all I care but if he picks and chooses and makes it up as he goes along, it is going to be horrible for the company's image. People aren't mad cause he said they are cheating. They're mad because now anyone that killed a Rikki Com officer or walked into a mission with farm in the title might log in anyday and be banned or de-lvled. That is no longer black and white.

Oh, Colonial you scamp! You and your crazy antics.

First there was "Do Not Touch This Game!" Where you tell everyone the game's not worth playing because you got slapped for using potty-mouth. Now it's "ZOMG CoH Blew It's Own Brains Out!!".

    Hyperbole much?

I realize CoH ate your baby and burned down your house. I'm pretty sure that if your chest was a cannon you'd have shot your heart upon it. You don't like the game. We get it.

    But really?

    Come on.

devs spent over a year modifying this "tool" for use by paying customers.

over a year... that we know of.

take a minute to let the settle in... over a year to modify a tool they already had, for use by the playerbase.

everything that can be exploited in all mmos to date -- HAS been exploited, to include all the items i've mentioned in coh (and many more in coh)... but THIS time... THIS time, there's a gentlemen's agreement to not exploit by the playerbase???

misunderstand, twist, confuse, smack talk all you want... the above are facts.

but... the player is at fault?

I'm not going to be threatened by someone at a phone/cable/electric company and i would CERTAINLY report them to their boss and a couple higher up than that... i'll be damned if i get threatened or smack talked by some dev from some random mediocre game, and continue to support that jack ass with MY money.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

The devs made it possible to use a map of a Farm, and populate it with mutated chickens.

So if you can LITERALLY make a map of a farm, I don't see why they should suddenly say 'no farming'. They knew people would want to 'farm'.

The real trick to fixing the level grind, is once you have a 50, to let you do /40 or /50 to instantly level up something, and to add compelling content that you may want to do on your way to 50.

    They've done neither.
