Miss California Carrie Prejean is back!

outfctrloutfctrl Member UncommonPosts: 3,619

Well, I must say, You cant keep a good woman down.  Good for her!

Miss California Carrie Prejean announced Thursday that she will help to launch a campaign opposing same sex marriage.

She told NBC's "Today" show that she'll be working with the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) to "protect traditional marriages."

NOM QUOTE:  the vitriolic response by [those] mischaracterizing the millions of people who have these concerns expressed in our ad as ‘liars and bigots’ only tends to confirm our main message: same-sex marriage is not about tolerance, it’s about using the power of law to impose a new morality on an unwilling American people."

The irony is that there are some whom will still insist she did not have an agenda.

Perhaps making a profit --probably become a spokesperson for marriage though she is not married, similar to Palin's child becoming a spokesperson for abstinence though she does not practice abstinence-- from bigotry is not against her values.

You know, with each new day these people sink to new lows.

All the controversy and pro-same-sex-marriage lynch mobs lining up to have at her have catapulted this woman in to a much better position than she would have been if she just won the competition.  Instead of the 15 mins of fame from winning, she is getting 30 and some more money.

    Right about this.

Opposing same-sex marriage because "Jesus told me so" doesn't cut the mustard. Even the Dijon variety.

I want to hear one honest, true factoid about how allowing homosexual couples to have the same legal protections as heterosexual couples will alter the fundamentals of society, destroy "traditional" marriage, or have any negative impact on society in any way, shape or form. Go ahead. I'll wait.

So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things, but I tell you, Jerry, at that moment ... I was a marine biologist.

Are her 15 minutes of fame over yet ? How much longer are the conservatives going to continue sticking their noses up this woman's arse and telling everyone she smells like roses??

She's back to bring the republicans out of the slump. She's this years Joe the Plummer.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

If the roles were reversed and it was a contestant who said "dont get me wrong ,I dont want to offend anyone but I think marriage is between people of the same sex " ,it would not even be an issue. Its funny how lefties percieve things nowadays "Reverse Descrimination" does exist it seems with liberal viewpoints.

If you are conservative you cannot express your opinion these days without be thought of as racist,a biggot ,a religious fanatic ,or a fool. Also considering that whether you are religious or an athiest, that biological "fact" is that for humans need a female and a male (as with most mammals ) to produce offspring without using artificial means or cloning is wrong is beyond me.I am not a big antigay person either it really doesnt matter to me as long as what they doesn't effect me.I am just glad I was just born attracted to women. And yes Carrie is pretty hot I would say.

I am fairly conservative on most issues but not all ,but from what I have noticed a lot of the same left wing posters on here are completely left on all ideals, so I pretty much consider them to be "SHEEP" of the mainstream media so their opinion really doesnt much weight with me.Sad but true.

A bigot is a person who is intolerant of or takes offense to the opinions, lifestyles or identities differing from his or her own, and bigotry is the corresponding attitude or mindset.

I see no bigotry in her, but I do see it from the other side.  All she did was express HER views.  She never said anything hateful toward gays.

    Whether your Democrat,Republican,Liberatarian or Independent

" Freedom Of Speech" applies whether you disagree with it or not.

And just because GEORGE BUSH left office doesn't mean that FREEDOM OF SPEECH went away once BARRACK OBAMA was sworn in ,Regardless of the way mainstream media has handled it

Also ,I really dont recall a shortage of left wing criticsms over the last 8 years Bush was president .

And while I am at that point ,If Fox News or any of the dozen or so conservative radio talk show hosts were hushed where there was only 1 sided (liberal) commentary ,that would create an enviroment for complete loss of freedoms .Thats how dictatorships get started.(This is history so its really not debateable).

I'll be glad when everyone is accepted for who they are in this country.  I know it wont ever happen, because theres this "bible" thing and hard coded ideals that certain sects of the US belong to.  But one things for sure, gays will have their place in the US eventually.  We just have to evolve to that point.

You know, I completely disagree with her views, but I'm glad she said what she really thought.  It's better than a cookie cutter response made to win.

I love how people are using the freedom of speech argument to take her side.  They fail to see the other side.

She's not being arrested for saying what she said.  She's being skewered by other Americans, who also happen to have the right to free speech.  So they can, and will say what they want about her.

Everyone has the freedom to say what they want, but everyone else has the freedom to call that person an idiot.

    EXACTLY!

If she was being thrown in jail, this would be a free speech issue.

Just because you're free to speak your mind in this country does not mean you do so without consequence.

And Scubie, your little "sheep of the mainstream media" comment is one of the stupidest things I've ever read.

So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me. By your very definition, she is a bigot, I'm glad to see you have finally agreed.

To explain to you why exactly she is a bigot:

She thinks that other people's rights should be taken away. Other people are NOT allowed to be married because of her personal belief. This is intolerance

If I said you were no longer able to ride a motorcycle because I don't like them, that would be intolerance

    From dictionary.com:

"lack of toleration; unwillingness or refusal to tolerate or respect contrary opinions or beliefs, persons of different races or backgrounds, etc."

It's clear she doesn't respect that gays should be allowed to get married as she even goes as far to campaign against it.

As I already said before: It doesn't matter anymore. The question if gay marriage will be legalized in the US has already past. The question is now only when, and there is nothing the Christian Fascists such as"Miss california" can do about it.

You really have to love how christians think "Traditional marriage" is in any way threatened by gay marriage.

This is typical of the right when you hit a nerve -- accuse the other side of what you do in spades.

    "You're the bigots!"

Do you know why people are "intolerant" of her opinion? BECAUSE HER OPINION IS ONE OF INTOLERANCE!

So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys...I was terrified. But I pressed on, and as I made my way past the breakers, a strange calm came over me.
