Miss California may lose her crown.

popinjaypopinjay Member Posts: 6,539

It looks like Miss California is in a little hot water of her own regarding something that has absolutely nothing to do with Peres Hilton.

Long before the Peres incident, Carrie Prejean poses for some nice, wholesome pictures inline with her personal Christian faith. The problem was, it appeared she was attempting to reenact Eve in the Garden of Eden and this was a no-no to pageant taboos.

Miss California poses

Her explanation in brief:

May 5) -

Miss California USA says a revealing photo of herself appearing on the Web is "quite appropriate" for a model, and she has accused the gossip site that posted it of trying to belittle her Christian beliefs.
"I am a Christian, and I am a model," Carrie Prejean said in a statement. "Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith."

So, she likes to take partially nude pics of herself in lingerie for money, get free breast implants from the USA Pageant, doesn't like gay marriage and espouse Christian moral virtues and values in her spare time?

Duh! Why didn't she just give THAT answer to Peres? She would have won in a landslide!

Apparently, this drool child's story is not over. It appears she may have run afoul of the contest rules by posing for these shots.

I would anticipate an appearance for Prejean soon on Go Daddy!.com given her dedication to spread the gospel.

She is a homophobic.  She hates gay people because they are gay, and she justifies this by using her own family and her religion as a sword and shield.

These people have been in charge for a very long time, and it is high time that their bigotry is soundly rejected.

    Sad.  Shame.  Just too bad.

God told her that marriage was between a man and a woman.  He then told her to take off her top and shake it!

But she definitely has a really good start at being a conservative Republican. Even a viable candidate one day.

    - Homophobe.

    - Extreme Christian right slant.

    - Takes free "gifts" worth several thousand dollars (new ta-tas).

    - Cries foul, persecution and reverse discrimination when feeling slighted unfairly due to losing.

    - Gets caught doing something "unchristian", then tries to mitigate out of it and poo-poo the hypocrisy suggesting it's pretty much WWJD. (What Would Jesus Do)

    - Affixes face squarely to every talk show, newspaper and media outlet immediately to "get the story out", while making publicity appearances appealing for sympathy.

    - Able to capitalize on groups financially willing to posterize her for their own financial gain ala Joe the Plumber for the current news cycle.

Senator Prejean. I can see it, lol.

    LMAO!

She claims she was 17. Is that underage in CA for these types of photos?

Err.. where are the parents? Good ol' conservative value based parenting.

Prejean: "Dad, look at these I just got. Do you think they are biblical? Did I just sin?"

Pop: "Idk, honey. How much money do you think you can make with them? If you can't get at least 50% return off of what was paid... yup, that's a sin."

To be honest, to many girls do so much things to gain some fame and attention (the wrong kind) that honestly they are really going to destory their own goals and careers in the end. Youtube, Myspace, Ratemybody, etc. are just the beginning.

This Republican party is just ludicrous.

Thank Goodness I left the so-called "party" when I did.  It is getting worse. ROFL.

My first though is really "Who the fuck cares about these horrendously stupid contests" and my second one is "isn't this supposed to be a beauty contest?". If you want contests where the winner is the one who can state most stupid opinions in shortest time then you got politicians. I really do not see why her opinions should affect her "beauty".

I heard beauty pageants were a pre-requisite for women in the GOP.  Maybe she can run with Palin in '12

It's a good thing bigotry likes that gets turned down and gets frowned upon.

Society made crucial blows are racism. It's time society does the same against homophobia.

I've always laughed at this picture.

It just goes to show how superficial republicans can be.  If you're not ugly, you can be a part of the public part of our party.

Makes me wonder why there isn't a chart like this comparing democratic women test scores/IQs to republican women.  I think we all know the answer to that one.  Maybe I should whip one up

And if we're going to be superficial.  At least be fair.

  • GameloadingGameloading Member UncommonPosts: 14,182

I think the best part of the picture is the fact they used Ann Coulter to represent the republican party.

    Those quotes are frightening!!

This is not a game.  This is not politics.  This is about using religion as a shield and "family values" as a sword to undermine the Constitutional rights --privacy, association, liberty, contract, among others-- of "gay" people.

It is not so much for me that the "gay community" is under attack.  Religion is attacking all of our rights:  gay, straight, liberal, conservative, neo-conservative, and neo-liberal. EDIT:  the only people seeking to "change" or "amend" the Constitution are the right-wing.  Amend the Constitution to take-away liberty.  These people are extremists.

In my opinion, anyone who uses religion as a political tool or basis of political decisions is an extremist.  If I heard Obama come out and say he is invading a country, changing a policy, etc. because god told him to, I'd be alarmed.  So far that hasn't happened and don't think it will.

    So yea, I agree.

They're being fussy on a couple of pics that show less boob than in the pageant's swimsuit competition?

A woman wearing a bikini and high heels is as wholesome an image as that photo she was in.

Can a pageant that makes a person like Perez Hilton a judge really have such high standards?

As far as being critical of her being christian and posing for sexy photos - where is the problem with it with regards to her religon?  I have a bigger problem with the fact that she was too young for those shots but that isn't her fault because she was a minor - the adults around her should of known better.

Honestly, nothing is wrong with the pics, but when you constantly hear about religious right wing nutballs wanting to censor every inch of skin from television, movies, games because "It's not wholesome" this kinda thing gets funny.

We're not bashing her for taking the pics, we're bashing the hypocrisy of it all.

So it's a witch hunt then?  We don't like her views so we find an offense to attack her with and use it despite whether she is guilty of the offense or not?  We'll punish her for her views by hurting her for this new offense?

It seems like an injustice to me and I would advise you all to tread with caution lest you become the jackals some of you constantly cry about on this forum.

First, I am not sure if you are really serious when you say what is the problem with those pics in regards to Christianity. Forget WWJD... what would Billy Graham do? What would Pat Robertson do? What would Chuck Colson do? What would John Hagee do? What would Rick Warren do? What would Rod Parsley do? What would T.D.Jakes do? Those are some of the Christian right leaders who would have a field day if this girl was anything other than a Republican. They have all been eerily silent on this whole national debate and for good reason.

They cannot come out and say what they feel; that this girl is clearly not exhibiting Christian principles consistent with biblical values. I don't care if you are Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Born Again, Seventh Day.. there is no legitimate Christian religion connected with the Republican party that would co-sign these pics, her breast job or even her doing this at 17 years old.

The issue with the pageant is: they have rules that state you cannot do this type of stuff. She was asked had she ever done this and she.. gasp... lied and said "no". Meh, so what's another Christian value when fame and fortune are to be had. She broke the rules while claiming a judge wasn't following them himself. Hypocrisy. That is the issue. Not if the pics are nice or not.

Wow... Now that is just disturbing to the extreme. I was quite surprised by some of the people on that list and the quotes attributed to them. Disturbing to say the least.

As for Miss California... Give it a rest already. She lost... She probably would have lost without the gay marriage question. This is way too much hoopla over a stupid beauty pageant. So what if a 'model' took some rather revealing photos. Hell there are woman and men who call themselves Christian who make porn movies for Pete's sake. Christians never fail to amaze me with the amount of hypocrisy they are capable of.

To be totally honest I really don't care what any of those people do so long as it's legal and I also don't care what they think so long as I have the ability to think for myself.

There is a certain atmosphere in this thread that suggests a revenge and that is what bothers me about it.  Some of you seem to be using this minor instance to avenge the wrong that you feel she made when she gave her opinion on another topic but it really is too minor an instance to justify what you guys are dishing out here.  Maybe it's because I'm non-religious but not anti-religious or maybe that I'm from Canada and so the trials and tribulations of being a member of your 2 party system is over my head or maybe it's because I'm so damn liberal that I was unable to see what you guys are seeing - I just don't get it.
