Hey everyone im lookin for something to play and i beta tested lineage 2 and had some fun while i played,, which was a few days tops. Is it a good game now ? Is there a large population of new players and such to play with if i started playing ? I just am wondering if it would be worth it to get it and start playing.. i got a trail invite key but i cant install the game with the link provided.. keeps asking for a disk so i have no clue how to get the trail client.

    Hello there,

first of all, it's a very weird post of yours. "Is it a good game now?" wasn't it before? Mainly if you had nice time...

If you're asking about some changes(note that i'm not talking about "improvements" coz it's a personal issue) in gameplay, the answer is yes. Vitality system, shadow weapons, new instances... this makes some difference, but i think Lineage 2, in its essence, didn't change that much. Of course, I'm not that experienced in L2, former players could give you a better feedback.

About new players, I think that there's not much of them, coz in fact if you can find a guild, be supported, you can get A grade real fast. Playing alone in L2 can be very sacrificing.

About client installation, try to download from fileplanet, I think it's the best way to download it:

    http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/lineage2/gracia2/index.aspx

There's no difference in client for subs and frees, the game mechanics checks your account status and blocks/enables some minor features.

    Good Luck in your Journey!

Its worth your time to at least try it out again.  With newbie buffs and common items, they have basically made the game really easy to get to A grade.  The biggest problem with the game are bots and RMT, but if you find a good, mature, legit clan,  the game is very enjoyable.  Also, if you dont like to grind for hours straight, then it's not the game for you.

And always use a downloader like FlashGet because it wil check data;a 4 gigas file is almost always corrupted.

I havent played in a bit (about 6months) but since I have played from CB to C2 then came back in C4 , I can give you some information about the game's evolution.

The game in essence its still what it used to be a VERY competitive world, with strict clan politics involved, access to bleeding edge items is what has changed mainly, what I mean by this is, you wont have clans controlling items like they did before, you dont need to be in the best guild to get the best items anymore, RMT is quite big and even tho most people will tell you they never used it, at some point or another they most likely did. And that really only leaves you with 2 choices to play the game.

    1) Join mid/low range guild where you will be accepted regardless of your gear/level, you most likely wont be in any big alliance, if your lucky you will have a clan hall, your guild will more likely than not be avoiding conflict where they can so they dont get stomped by the bigger guilds, these guilds are usually have a less "elitist" environment, ppl will help you and group you just because "you are in the guild".

    2) Use RMT to advance faster in the game, better gear will provide you with faster leveling, you can  get groups with the most "elitist" looking for high level ,well equiped characters for XP grinding sessions, this will usually give you (granted they enjoy playing with you )  a free pass into a good clan, more likely than not, this clan will be a "branch" of a much bigger clan, you will have a chance to pvp with the most powerfull alliances and fight in sieges, clans like these work on a "i like the guy ill help him" basis, being the new guy, you wont get ALOT of help until you actually get into the "good graces" of a few core people.

I wont really go into farmers because there are a million threads about it already.
