Possible return of Prelude-C4 vet...

I played from Prelude to C-4 and quit shortly before C5. I was just fed up with the bots. So now I hear that the bots have been hammered down some, with IP bans and NCSoft going after the adena selling companies and bot programmers. So I am considering a return. I don't need a "return" pass. I still have my account info, I just would like some A's to my Q's.

1) What is the situation concerning bots?

2) With all the new content, should I just pick up my lvl 65 pally and 62 SR or just start over completely to get a new feel for the game?

3) I have been gone since Jan '06, would my accounts still have all my toons and gear? Or have they been wiped after a time?

4) If they are still there, can I get a server move or stay on Sieghardt? (or whatever it's called now)

Yes, the bots are still there but there have been more aggessive steps to reign them in.

However, if that is the reason you quit then you probably will still be as unhappy. If they bother you that much then it seems to me you will be equally dissatisfied when you see your first 2 or 3 groups.

It does seem a bit better since the last time I played, just when they instituted the bot button reporting system.

If you liked your Paladin and Silver Ranger then play them. They aren't the star classes but I always say play what you like.

Your account will still be there with what was on them.

You can do server moves. Sieghart and Erica were merged into Sayha

my biggest problem, I believe is the perceived lack of interest that NCSoft took in combating the bots. If they are just as bad, then I will probably not last too long in my return. If they have been weeded down some, then perhaps I have a chance. It will also be determined how many of my old friends are still in game.

To be honest, I think you should try it.

If there are no more friends of yours left, you might consider going to Phoenix (hindemith + gustin).

I was formerly of Hindemith and even though there was a decent amount of stuff goiing on, things really picked up after the merge. It was like it was an all new game.

I'm unsure how I feel about NC and the bots as I've seen bots banned that I've reported.

so either they really are hit or miss on bot banning, their methods take too long and are too inaccurate, or there are just too many bots for NC to handle.

I never really had issues with bots. I had more issues with farmers when the game first came out.

If your paladin is close to high levels, you will not find any trouble finding a competitive guild, palas are still olympiad beasts.

That's sweet to hear! I also heard rumor that there was a change to pets. Can anyone help me out there? I have a lvl 45 wolf that I would love to bring back with me.

Yes, the bots are still there....There is a bot report action key now, but I prefer to use the petition system. I am reading that this is actually working plus I have seen it work first hand.

Pets are easy now. They don't get any more xp by attacking, killing etc. You just need to keep them out and keep them alive. If they are more than 5 lvls below you they don't gains that much xp. If the pet is more than 11 lvls higher then you, then you don't gain as much xp.

Because I am looking to play L2 again on the side I was wondering how is it gear wise for higher levels I have a lvl 76 HE, he only has A grade at the minute and I am looking to comeback and maybe make my way to S grade, my questions are...

-Are prices all inflated? (Are people still ebaying like crazy to be competitive)

-Are there more events to get hold of high level gear (AKA the old world raid bosses that dropped 2-3 pieces of gear) and/or other quest type of events which will greatly help you upgrade your character?

-Can every organized guild be competitive or do the top end guilds control every single resource and you pretty much have to join them to be a part of anything?

Hmmm, can't help you on the prices as I quite just after the first Gracia update.

I think they nerged some of the gear drops on some of the bosses. Before you could raid Antharas and get a whole slew of gear but I think that has been lessened a bit. Someone who is currently playing might better be able to answer that.

An organized guild can be competitive but you will run into problems as most of the players are already in successful guilds. Short of one of the larger guilds going bust (hey, it happens) being competitive with regards to members might be hard.

Okilee dokilee. I downloaded the client from fileplanet, and as it is installing the updater, it keeps asking me to insert CD 0. What the hell? I don't remember this game requiring a CD. Any advise?

Ok, I found this boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php on official forums and it sounds like what I am experiencing. The "fix" wasn't exactly clear on this thread, but it sounds like I need to delete all L2 files, do a scan disk, then suffer through another 20 hour down load from file planet. Anyone else go through this?

Here's the deal, go to GAME or HMV, the client + 60days + account costs about 5 pounds, it will give you the first throne, and you wont have to bother about downloads and for 5 pounds its worth trying really with a real account.

So it now doesn't seem to matter what i do, Fileplanet's downloads are all crap. I have now attempted to download this game from 5 different mirrors on FP, and all have failed. Is there anywhere else we can download this game? It is telling that you can't even DL it from the official site or from NCSoft. Will I have to install the game from the Prelude CD and let the client update itself for a month or so?
