Or

http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/store/configurator.aspx?mid=320  This one I would upgrade the resolution, up the ram to 4gig and upgrade the OS to 64 bit.

The third option is  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101166 My problem here is the price. I could convince myself  to come up with the money for this one IF you guys could convince me its without a doubt worth the extra $600ish.

Currently playing LOTRO.  For the most part thats the highest graphics reqs I will be wanting untill probably KOTORO as I have a console for all my fps's.

If anyone has any other idea's please feel free to post them. I checked the other recent post about laptops and thats the reason I added the gateway to the list. It looks like one good rig for the price but since I'm not great with the laptop V-cards I'm not sure if its so much better than either of the other two.

Wait for the third one to drop in price again and pick it up.

I bought it when it was 1199.99. Best deal around.

    I love it.

Yes I know. Ok people unfortunatly the choices have been reduces to the 2 laptops under 1k. I need the laptop for work other than just gaming though my other apps dont require nearly the graphical requirements games do. My current laptop took a crap today so I definitly need to have one ordered by the end of the week which leaves the third option out.

So out of the first two which do you feel is the better choice?

Edit: NVM the third one is the way I will be going. After reading the reviews on newegg someone mentioned best buy having it cheaper and sure enough I can pick it up for 1149.99 at bestbuy.

Best Buy has the worst service support with Geek Squad. If you buy any type of computer pray you won't need to use your warrenty

As for laptops. If the graphic devices are integrated then expect them to eat your ram by whatever amount they use. That means a 4GB ram laptop becomes a 3GP laptop if the onboard graphics uses 1GB. Just something to consider.

Thats the great thing about this laptop especcialy being a name brand, its almost fully upgradable. I was reading reviews/ratings and people have upgraded these themself. Upgradeable includes, CPU, Graphics, RAM (it says 4max but it is capable of being upgraded to 8gig of ddr3), Cd drives have been upgraded to blue-ray, people have added bluetooth cards. It also has a second dock for another HD. This is by far the most upgradable Namebrand laptop I have ever seen.

Yea The geeksquad is more of a dumbass squad but luckily after I buy the thing any work I need/want done I wont need to rely on them for. The only other option really is newegg or gateway direct. Newegg is selling for 1500 bascily and Gateway direct for 1299. The nice thing about best buy is I can make them open it up instore and make sure everything is at least working out of the box before I take it home.

Anyway, I will write more up when I actually buy this and test it out at the end of the week but on paper, reviews, benchmarks ect this is an amazing laptop for the money. Sure I would be better off with a desktop but for me a laptop is the better way to go (work ect).

Oh one last thing, from what I have read and seen the #1 complaint for this laptop its its size. Be warned when you get into a 17inch screen laptop they are rather large lol.
