Reason To Play Second Life

NalruneNalrune Member Posts: 2

If you could figure out how to leave the god forsaken noob fest of "Miramare" which is the lag infested hangout for noobs you'd actually find some interesting stuff. I'm sure you had the blue jeans, white T-shirt, and poofy hair thing going on for ya eh? Take the tutorial, look at the top right of your screen, search for sandbox, teleport there, and then learn your crap. If you think it's just about socializing, you never took the time to explore it, contact "Nalrune Ansar" that's me, I'll guide you all through Second Life and show you what experiences can be fun, they have PvP places ya know? Where you can punch+kick the crap out of each other with custom animations that you can even make yourself, I'm an animator, a builder, and I make textures. Did I mention you can make real money off Second Life using those Linden Dollars.

I forgot to mention, there's swords, katanas, throwing knives, guns, cannons, C4, laser guns, light sabers, anything imaginable. There's bow and arrow, RPG games within Second Life, flaming arrows, ice arrows, spells, teleportation, laser eyes, anything imaginable I'm telling you. You can even make your own stuff!!! Want to make a watermelon launcher? How about a spitball and straw? Want to join a Japanese community where role-playing is a requirement... yeah do it.... and they might have enemies such as the Nords, (who are real players) that will come and assault, raid, and pillage you and your fellow friends, and home. Want to join a successful business or work for the government and have a shot at a RL career, it's all here in Second Life, I can go on and on, there's vampires, werewolves... there's even the Matrix for crying out loud, I'm not sure if there's slow-motion, I'll have to look that up. Once you get to the sandbox, figure out how to IM people, send "Nalrune Ansar" (ME) an Instant Message, and I'll fill you in on the basics and whatever.

Let me add my reasons to give Second Life a try!

    1) because you can customize your avatar in a thousand of ways

    2) because you can use it to socialize and make friends

    3) because there are many sim settled as RPG sims, where you can play games and characters in a cool way

    4) because you can create there, eachkind of stuff

    5) because on Second Life you can have a mmorpg experience if though it is not "per se" a mmorpg

    6) btw, I still love others MMorpg (I have used WOW in the past) but I think that Second Life and other products worth a visit or a try.....if though you can still continue to prefer other games online....

this is a personal, just I can't agree with people saying Second Life sucks or Second Life is ugly etc.....in the last months it improved a lot and now it is a good experience there...

    Here is my biggest reason:

Because SL is a living world lovingly crafted by the people that live there.

I would be happy to share my LM’s if you care to share yours, SL is unlike any other virtual world available.

    Like ---

Scavenger hunts – yup we got them

Live Music – wow do we ever have them

Dancing – SL has everything from ballet to rave

Owning a harem of beautiful slave girl – Gorean RPG sims might be for you.

SL has all this and more than I could ever list.

Most of this is facts are the noobs that say SL sucks is because A. Yes it does lagg but what game dosent every now and then.. B. Are stupid and looking the same as they first did when they joined SL because they thought "oh I can just jump right in learn how to play on my own"..skipping the tutorial.. Or the most famous C. They are just over played over games little fags that mostlikey got pissed because they was old enough to play and just like overall bitching like msot stupid children these days..And to respond to #5.. accualy It techneicly is a mmorpg for the fact there is over 127 different types of sims made just for  this reason... a few to name off some infamous games Mechwarrior,WOW,Everquest,BattleField, and many countless over games I myself am working towards makeing a COV and COH combat hud with powers etc... and speaking with a few sim owners on makeing some of the locations and other scripters into makeing the neccisary scripts for the AI on the bots and contacts..

Meet me in world Im a nice guy unless you piss me off then Im like in most games a un-hitable demi-god of hell wipeing the floor with your ass. PWN'ing you noobs because I know my shit just fucking you up makeing you scream like the little bitch you are about how everything sucks...

Wow.  Well I'm glad you guys are enjoying your game SL.  I played the trial of the "game," and that admittedly doesn't give me much of a background to speak from.

I do realize that people that understand the coding can make some AMAZING things in the game and even make real world money selling items.  I thought that sounded incredibly cool!  Unfortunately, I'm too dumb to understand the tutorials on how to make things.  LOL  Because of that, and what seemed a massive investment of time (learning curve) to actually be able to function in SL like other long time players do....I just rather quickly chucked the whole thing.

In that very short exposure to the game, I had pretty abysmal experiences with people that desperately were trying to find, it seemed, cyber buddies....nope, not interested, so for me.....it appeared to be a thinly veiled disguise for a visual porn chat, and not REALLY a "game."

To be fair....my experiences, like I said, were extremely limited, and I didn't find the "game" immediately appealing enough to warrant further investigation.  I think a lot of people have a similar experience to mine when logging in for the first time, and it leaves a rather sour taste in their mouths for any future exploration of the games possibilities.

Also...I have to say....I DID see some AMAZING shops and homes, islands and buildings, and real estate offices and such that made me WISH that I was attracted to it enough to want to delve into it further.

I think SL is one of those "games" that either appeals to someone right off.....or it doesn't. :(

Have you tried InSilico?  Check out you might change your mind about 2ndLife.

Actually, because of what I said, and because you're mentioning it....I'm even afraid to Google that.   My women's intuition tells me it might be something very unsavory.

I myself volunteer on newbie island at least twice a week, if you ever need some help or want to site see I would be glad to help. SL really does have something for everyone, but for RPers it can be amazing.

I am Arra Jinx in SL …. Look me up
