RasiemRasiem Member UncommonPosts: 318

Game looks great but they allways do how is the player base I logged back in to warhammer and all the servers were nearly empty are there still ppl in lower level areas and such or did everyone leave and go to wow like they did warhammer WoW is just getting so lame and simple now days I need something else in my life. I read somthiong about there not being much endgame items and such is this true.

I couldn't tell you about the end game stuff.  I do know that there should be some people in the lower areas now, leveling the 2 new classes and all together new people who bought the game because MoM recieved ridiculously good reviews.  The community in LOTRO is the best of any mmo I've seen.  It's almost like ever person who wasn't an asshat from other mmo's came to LOTRO.

The lower level areas (below 30) have been very busy. Even in the smaller quest hubs there are people and I'm seeing groups everywhere. Crafting is more of a resource grind though but at least you can make many useful items.

for the endgame (as far as I can tell) there's one armour set to collect, the radience set (you get them from various 6-person instances that you must complete in hard mode)... there are other high level armour sets, but they aren't as good... then you have the 12 person raid on the watcher, where you can complete the radience set, and get some first age legendary weapons... finally there's PvP, which you can first enter at level 40, and you can rank up your character's PvP rank if you want... the next free update I would guess will probably have more endgamey stuff... since it's going to be in a high level area (Lothlorien)... although I havn't quite reached the endgame myself, when I'm in Moria there are always people looking for groups for the 6 person instances, and Silverlode is not the most populated server... in general, I haven't really played many other MMO's so I can't compare LOTRO's player base, but there are very few jerks, and people will always be ready to answer my questions if I use the /advice channel... in general I have been happy with the PUG's I've been a part of (which is how I've done almost all of my fellowship quests)...

Thanks guys those are the answers I have been looking for the only problem im afraid of having is the items they look excellent but are there gonna be enough upgrades to keep my attention or am I gonna be wearing the same look for 20 lvl's everything sounds great but the only thing keeping me in WoW atm are the items lol but if the gameplay is as good as it sounds then it would be worth it. and what server would you recomend I start on.

Outfit system. And the high end radiance set is not really needed if you aren't going to do the one large raid instance.

This is not an "end game" type of game. There are things to do but if your idea is to get to end game and then start enjoying the game you will be very dissapointed.

im actually looking for the complete opposite but I would like there to be a great deal of things for me to do when I reach the end or is there nothing but the one area?

Right now there is just the one lvl 60 raid in the vile maw. There are the 6 man instances and a few 12 man i think. There is plenty to do when you hit lvl cap. To alot of people they have to see an experience bar that is always increasing from the exp you get from doing something in order to feel it is worth doing. Me I could careless about that . I will go back to an area i out lvl'd and finish the triats and deeds in that area that i haven't done yet. They will be adding more to the game and at this point as another poster said it will be endgame stuff as it will be in the high lvl areas. Not to mention they will ad more epic books. This game is a enjoy the journey type game. Those who sit up all night long and rush thru the content at break neck speed are actually missing alot of the game in my opinion.

For the US servers, brandywine and elendilmir are the most populated. I play on elendilmir were the vast majority of the kinships from closed beta went when the game launched. Elendilmir is also the unofficial oceanic server.

thats me to im allways wanting to go back and complete/find things in lower level area that I may have passed up. But here is another question I have because as of right now im going to download this it sounds right up my ally but are those you said you travel to lower level areas for advance your char or give you something worth of use or is it like WoW where you get these to basically just show others you have them. This is why im looking for another game atm also because Blizzard seems to be getting lazy  with these kinds of adds and I dont want to get into another game with pointless achievements that mean nothing to my character. This also seems to be a game that will make me want to roll every class and this interests me as well and the fact there are things to go back in the lower level areas to get sounds exciting the adventure aspect seems to be lost in the mmo world now its not like the asherons call, Ultima online and EQ days where this was an exciting aspect of the game.

I love to adventure with friends and not have to go and fight in instances to have a good time is this the kind of MMO for that? Oh and sorry about the long posts I just have so many questions about this game because I love the LoTR lore and tired of spending money on these MMos that arent satifying atall Warhammer/WoW.

I think the problem here is that in LOTRO it's a bit up to you as far as "a great many things to do".

There are some raids but it isn't  raiding game. There are quests that you can help people with such as the book quests, or quite frankly any quests that you can join the group in.

You can work on your traits and deeds which help your character. You can work on crafting.

There is the music system where you can play your own music.

However, this is not a completely free roaming game like some of the older games. There are a few areas where you need to be on the coresponding quest in order to enter. Not a lot of these areas but they are there.

And sure, you can enter low level areas and do quests you missed but the rewards will be minimal because they are low level rewards. so essentially you would be doing them for your own enjoyment.

There should be some digital means, but I dislike those.  I prefer having a box and disks....google it or see if Turbine has a digital purchase on their website!

meh, to be honest it will take you several hours to download and patch so depending on where you live, it might be faster just to purchase the latest version in the store and then patch it.

Any deed you go back and do will help advance your character. traits have 10 lvls each lvl increases the amount of bonus the trait gives you. You may do a deed in one area that gives you the first lvl of a trait and another area will give you another lvl. Or you may do the deed in a higher lvl that gives you the first lvl of a trait and your able to go back to a lower lvl area and do a deed that gives you the second lvl of the trait. Almost everything you do in LOTRO has a purpose.

Crafting is a good example. You can craft things for your character that will be helpful at the lvl you craft it. If you have put in the time into crafting and mastered the tier you can crit items that are far better than any drop for it's lvl in the game. When you hit lvl 50 you get into Legendary items. These are weapons and a class item that have lvls. You can get them from a legendary vendor for items that drop in the world. Lvl's 53 and 55 you need a rusted dwarf tools for each item. lvls 57 and 59 it is a khuzudul tablet.

You can definately just run around the world with you friends and adventour or you can solo your way thru the lvls. If you have a friend who needs help with a quest you already done you can help them. For epic books if you have already done the books instance you goto a looking mirror and you can get the quest wich gives you a barter item for helping a friend with it.

Also they are always adding more epic books to do. So they are always adding fresh content every few months. I can attest that it is not a lacksa daisy additions either. They have added new areas in updates or expanded on existing ones.
