Ive never played any of the fallout series games....Fallout 1/2 looked like Diablo and Fallout 3 had so many bad reviews because of the SecurRom stuff.......Did Fallout 3 ever get rid of the SecurRom software?? ANd does Fallout 1/2 play like Diablo or does it just have the look similar to Diablo??......Also are they an FPS or more of an RPG in a different setting??
We must be reading different reviews then...Fallout 3 was pretty much seriously hailed as awsome in all the ones I read...not to mention myself and my friends love it. The only company that got smacked in the face for security software on a huge scale was EA with Spore.
People bitch about the dumbest crap...if its not going to affect you then there's no reason to bitch. If its going to affect you perhaps you should consider not being a software pirate or atleast keeping your trap shut.

I was going by user reviews found on Amazon for Fallout 3.......They rated 1 and 2 very high but 3 was about 50 percent 5 stars and 50 percent 1 star........There seemed to be 2 major issues with Fallout 3.....First, the biggest one, was the SecurRom stuff that basically made it impossible for people who use any kind of third party programs (not just Fallout 3 ones) to play the game until you removed it all.......The second issue seemed to be that it was very unstable for alot of users but its hard to say if they had compatability issues, low end PCs, etc etc.......I have heard alot of good things about Fallout 3 also but before I drop 50 bucks on it I want to make sure I am not getting crap like SecurRom or any other type of software that monitors anything.
There is nothing magical about the name Interplay. They did great on Fallout. They did decent on Fallout 2, but they seemed to lean on sticking cute movie references and junior-high locker-room sexuality in it while too much stuff was left broken. In other words, we have fond memories (some of them inaccurate), but no amount of wishing and combination of company and people can bring back the days of yore. Like another said, it's the post-apocalyptic setting that attracts us versus the 6.023x10^23 fantasy-setting games out there. There is a real dearth of options in this genre so declarations of, "I hope FO never becomes an MMORPG and if it does, I won't play it!" ring as clear as bell with a bed-mattress on it.

Fallout 1/2 are classic RPGs. Turn based combat, isometric view, and a much heavier focus on the story and dialogue as opposed to leveling and looting. They were some of the few RPGs that actually give you choices and consequences. That is, different ways to handle certain quests and the game world changed depending on your actions.
Fallout 3 is much closer to Diablo if that's what you're looking for. FPS with leveling and looting.

Following its release, Fallout 3 received a positive response from critics who praised in particular the game's open-ended gameplay and flexible character-levelling system. It has been compared to the 2007 video game BioShock for its setting and use of elements from mid-twentieth century American culture.[12] Critics have also noted several flaws in the game, such as the lack of precision in real-time combat and numerous glitches and crashes that can affect the player's progression through the game.[13] Public reception was overwhelmingly positive on release according to the game's high sales figures, particularly when compared to previous titles in the Fallout series.[14]
The Fallout mmo in production from interplay (original developers/publishers) hasn't been officially announced so all anyone has to go on is what the developers say about project v13 and guesses so... dont hope for anything substantial about the game any time soon eh.

I have a ton of stuff on my PC and I have had zero problems with Fallout 3. The people complaining about Scurecom are the ones that have illegal software cloning programs. They want to burn themselves a copy and then return the game or share with friends obviously.
Can you blame Bethesda from trying to protect their investment ? They spend 50 million making a game, its very reasonable to protect the thieves from stealing it. Game developers lose billions of dollars to them.
About the game, I was very skeptical about Bethesda before launch. The game turned out to be fantastic. Its not the same as Fallout 1-2 but well worth the money.
I'd definitely prefer Bethesda make a Fallout MMO over Interplay.
