Advertising can make games cheaper. What are your feeling about having them in an MMO?

What if they seemlessly merge into the world, adding to the atmosphere and gameplay.

What is your view

i don't mind ads in f2p games at all.

however if it's something i'm paying a sub fee or even just paid for a box to play they have no place.

I think ads are fine if they are used correctly. A game that involves seeing many billboards, there you go put ads there. A game that has vending machines, make it a coke or pepsi vending machine. If it blends into the environment then its fine.

Same as in movies. If you are trying to put it in then it hurts the movies. If someone was going to be there anyway, might as well make money off it.

i dont mind ads. I actually liked them in Anarchy online, since it showed a real life ad on tvs in stores and etc in the game. I think it adds to the atmosphere.

I agree, ads are alright as long as they aren't intrusive. In cases like Anarchy Online, they're woven into the game seamlessly and even add to the game as a whole

Yeah, those U.S. Navy ads blasting sound at full volume are woven seamlessly into the game.

if your talking about Anarchy online then this statement is false. The sound fades in and out the closer you are to a tv in game, and even when i was right next to one it wasnt "blasting" it was at a good moderate level (5-6/10). Even still, you could probably turn down the sound as well in the options.

Certain companies advertise on these message boards daily under the cover of obscure posters.  That's as cheap and easy as it gets.
