umm just something i noticed....why is Star Wars The Old Republic in the Genre of Fantasy? should'nt it be in Sci-Fi? just saying.
Its not sci-fi nor is it fantasy. Its really a space opera, but for the sake of not having to create another genre on the game list. I agree it should be in sci-fi.
When we get back from where we are going, we will return to where we were. I know people there!
The sub genre 'science fantasy' has been around for a long time, think Star Wars/ Firefly/ Farscape (where technology isnt the focus of the story or even usually clearly explained or defined) as opposed to Star Trek/ Babylon 5/ Asimov, but most would agree that Star Wars is more properly Science Fiction then pure fantasy.
Tiny detail though, I don't think many are gonna be unfamilar with the franchise enough to be confused by it.
I'm not going to go into an English professor explanation why Star Wars isn't Sci-Fi. It's considered more like King Aurthor with Lazors or The Odyssey with space ships.
Sent me an email if you want me to mail you some pizza rolls.
Actually, star wars should be considered a documentary, and not a "fictional sci-fi" movie. This stuff actually happened. In a galaxy far away, years ago. People must recognize.....

Because everyone knows that star wars is just a samurai movie series with energy swords instead of regular swords. George Lucas said so himself....no I can't find the quote.....yes I know he said it, I was there....

I have read that in sci-fi, you have a utside force to help the hero (space ship). In fantasy you have the force inside of you instead (magic).
So its easy to see why Star Wars get stuck in the middle.
hehehe

ummm...because it's WoW with lightsabers??
Well on the history channel, George Lucas said he calls it a sci-fi fantasy. So Sci-Fantasy? Fantasci? I dunno.

STOP QUESTIONING THE ALMIGHTY LUCAS!
I agree, probably should be sci-fi over fantasy.
