the graphics look good and this is a FPS.

most fps go up to 16 players online, the biggest I think is battlefield with 64 players.

I dodn't play planet side but this looks like a true fps with good graphics which is ace, but i'm concerned theres going to be a limit to zones or something that will leech alot of the MMO out of this MMOFPS

i hope that they do change it so there are areas that have larger battles. 10v10 would be fine for some but there should be a variety in the size of battles depending on what your fighting for.

Aren't you supposed to be sworn to secrecy by the dark magics of the NDA blood pact?

I imagine 10 vs 10 is just because its alpha and they are perfecting the combat (which looks ace). it would be laughable if it did not go up as much as FPS's not calling themselves mmos.

  • Slashed316Slashed316 Member UncommonPosts: 151

Don't see how it is like fury. Fury wasn't a shooter which is the games main focus.

i thought this was supposed to be the type of game with like 1000's of people playing together (like wow or something) if it's just another half-life game then what's all the hype for?  Heck considering the classes of heavy assassin medic engineer i'd be just as well going and playing team fortress 2

Yes, thats most peoples concern. it could be true BUT we don't know enough yet. it could be really large matches like 50 vs 50 or even more. there will be the equilivant of building guild cities. and its an ongoing race for power in a world, not a quick game where victory doesn't matter. on the site they say they will update technology with updates much like how it would do, which I think is an interesting idea. also there are RPG elements, so TF2 doesn't have character development or you earning money to buy new weapons.

yeah I think this is the most promising MMO in development. the gameplay looks amazing, and i'm sure the reported 10 vs 10 is simply because they are in alpha. and you don't need lots of players to perfect the combat system. they will concentrate on getting more people in game in beta I imagine.

besides its got cool swords, character builds, stealth, jet packs, sniper rifles and rocket launchers.

It will only ever be 10 Vs. 10. Its not just for Alpha.

Yeah I was disapointed too. Wish I could tell you more

I don't know whether to believe this or not. wish you could tell me more too.

if it is 10 vs 10 I don't think anyone will ever play this game. such a shame because it looks so promising.

I guess I will stop hyping this game until we get some solid info.

I really think that we should consider the stage of developement this game is in. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were using a 10v10 format to make sure the mechanics are solid before they expand on other elements. From what I have read on other review sites who have had some hands on play time, the whole PvE element is still being worked on and not ready to be tested by anyone yet. The game looks amazing, but I feel there is a lot yet to go.

Even if they tell the alpha testers it's only ever going to be 10v10 for example, it's plenty early enough to open up more content once what they have is working well.

    my 2 cents

  • JupstoJupsto Member UncommonPosts: 2,075

yeah, i heard they are working on increasing the number of players.

in youtube comments etc. you find a few people saying: "i'm playing the alpha is amazing".

and somewhere is a article where the reporter plays the game and says its really fun.

so i think they have the pvp gameplay down, time to add in the MMO aspect

Consensus, don't think you will be dissapointed with the 10v10.

Hell, 4v4 matches can get crazy (no the map isnt teeny)

I also want bigger matches eventually, but i think if they do that, it will only be for very speciallised matches.

But you have to remember, this is a major team game, and if you have 100 people in your clan in an MMO, are 64 of them going to be on at the same time? What about 24? even 16? 10v10 will work fine with how they have it set up.

Oh, and the MMO aspect exist. It isnt just a shooter, otherwise it would be maketed as  such.
