what would your ideal career be?

My first choice would be to be a world class hot rod builder/designer like Posies.  I dont really want to do the labor, just come up with the ideas for unique hot rods... man have I got some unique ideas =)

Second choice I'm sure would be very common around here... that is to be a conceptual game designer.. again not do the labor, just come up with the ideas.

Porn Star --- would be pretty awesome but as a guy you definatley got to do gay stuff to get paid well... Maybe if you could skip that and go straight to the girls, that would be the sweetest job.

Game Developer-- Also a job that requires extensive pre-requisites but would be awesome just to start as.

Capital Investor--- You already have the capital.

Rock Star-- no need to say more.

My ideal job would be one where I work with a group of modest people who are team oriented to the fault.  I get so sick of back-stabbing and ego's to the point where I actually went and started my own business to get away from it.

I also would like to be into something where I get to help people.  Not people who feel they are owed help, but who appreciate it and respect it.  I thought about being a teacher but that idea flew out the window for those reasons I just listed.  Kids in America (which have been my only experience) seem to have no respect for educators.  I think they should be given the utmost respect and kids should understand the contribution teachers are making to them.  I was a highly dyslexic student in school and had some wonderful teachers.  I always thanked them and recognized their patience and determination.  Many of the other kids did not.

I thought about the military as well, but for various reasons that won't work either.  I think I would fit in perfectly with that team oriented and goal driven environment, but I also recognize the nastiness that goes on and how it is overlooked and even sometimes rewarded in the ranks.

So, I am left with my business I started.  It's doing alright.  I have to deal with a lot of different people and to be honest, lately it hasn't been doing as well as when I started.  It all has to do with the economy.  I buy and trade old antique truck parts and refinished completed trucks, and when people don't have much disposable income they don't spend it too much on their "toys".  It will pick up soon I hope.  The only problem I've run in to in my career is doing my taxes (bleh), that's enough to drive anyone away from doing their own thing, and having to deal with the occasional "red neck" who needs me to drop my vocabulary down to about 50-100 words max.  They can get pretty nasty sometimes.  It's weird to see someone so dumb they don't realize they're dumb.  lol.  I am far from Einstein, but some people are scaaaary.

Best of luck to you, and if you get in (or any form of LE if you decide to continue on that route) stay safe out there.  Your safety comes first!

As for me, I would honestly like to do blacksmithing, perhaps making armors for people that like to buy/collect it.  Sounds kind of weird, but I think it'd be neat.

Writing for a game company such as Blizzard.

My degree is going to be in English with the emphasis in creating writing, so I'll be qualified for it, it's just difficult to land those kinds of jobs

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Would you rather write for a game company such as Blizzard, or one of the smaller ones?  I always assumed that companies like Blizzard are so huge that it would take away from the cozy and meaningful atmosphere.  Like it would make you just feel like a cog in the machine rather than a integral part of the process.

     Serial killer, or hit man.

I remember back in 1999, folks kept asking me if I was stockpiling food. I always answered, "No, I'm stockpiling ammo and making a list of people who are stockpiling food"

Yeah Im thinking of doing that also, or game design with a degree is history. Talked to a head of a indie studio in Austin when I went to a game camp and he says game writing is one of the if not the toughest job to get.

have you ever raced a racecar on pavement?  it's NOTHING like you expect.... totally different experience then driving way to fast on public roads =).

I got to race the Pocono Speedway north road course 2 years back..... It was really cool but after I found out how tough it is and what its really about I lost interest in doing any serious racing....

Now racing on dirt... might still appeal to me =) I love controlled slides!!

I've considered the hit man thing... only problem is that your employer might decide to "get rid of you" to protect himself.

Besides, I only really want to kill people who annoy me... and thats only about 85%.

Well, this is why it becomes important that your employers never know who you are.

Especially if you end up getting a contract on one of them.

See, only targeting those who annoy you is letting it get personal...a big no-no. Never let your emotions come into play, any more than you would if you were a garbage man simply removing someone's unwanted "problems".

The working conditions of a NASCAR race car include temperatures around 140 degrees farhenheit, sound in excess of 100 decibels, and wearing a flame retardant non-breathing suit and helmet. You may pull about 3 gs of force in turns. Yeah, I've got a decent idea of it.

Racing would be a good career.  My dad raced sports cars on road courses for years out in California back in his day.  Wish he would have stayed out there so that I could have become involved in it.

To those of you who said porn star.

Sorry to crush your dreams, but if your cock isn't 9 inches plus then you haven't got a chance. Except for taking dicks, that is--then your size doesn't really matter, it's the size of your manhole which you can make bigger as you please.
