Question- Might nearly as well be spam.

 Alright: I'd like to try and figure out the rating and star system. Who the hell sets this?Why is my rating 16, then suddenly 30, 40, 41, 47, then it drops to 7 when I don't post for a while and jumps back up to 37 a post later.

Put this in spam because it's a moderately dum***, low-priority qusetion that can probably be answered somewhere else on the site. Please answer anyway.
