So whats faster, downloading from Internet, or Using all the cds etc,..

Because ive heard that with the cds you start off with patch 2.0 and have to Install one by one,

and the internet download it starts at 2.3..

I believe you have to download both the original and the expansion however if you do it off the internet and that alone will take about 4 hours I think.  You can't just download the expansion, it requires the original to be installed to work.  You can have the CD's installed in probably 30 minutes and then just have to patch it up which should only take a couple hours.

Get the Warchest.  I think its one DVD with both WoW and TBC.  Much faster than the CD's.

The fastest way to install WoW is:

    1. Find a friend w/ WoW fully installed (till 2.4.4).

    2. Bring a USB flash drive w/ enough capacity to hold the entire WoW folder -- or just simply take your hard drive to his/her place.

    3. Copy the whole WoW folder to your USB/hard drive.

    4. Run WoW.

I've done this a couple of times~ esspecially when it's time to reinstall windows, WoW is one of the few applications I don't have to run installer to install.

This is a great idea, except you are gonna need about an 8 gig flash drive or an external hard drive.  Removing an internal hard drive, installing it in the other PC, copying over the files and then removing it again is not exactly gonna be an easy thing to do.  At least with downloading you can set it to download and walk away for a couple hours and come back and it's done.

I'm not sure w/ Mac, but in my case (windows) copying the WoW folder from 1 computer to another works fine.

I'm sure you can only use Mac client for Macs though. It's just that I'm not sure if you can do a direct copy for Macs.

I'm pretty sure you can copy the MPQ files from PC to MAC and vice versa, I think the only difference in the patch process between the two is the executable file format.

I can normally get faster speeds from the mirrors here than the Blizz patcher, and you don't have to download all the incremental updates.
