Im not a darkfall fan i think its a piece of bullcrap but i found this topic and just thought i might post it here for some darkfall fans to have new hope :P

A lot of positive stuff happening for Darkfall at the moment... looks like this sucker might actually get released.

if this game gives its promises it will be the most amazing game ever....its hype would shoot out the roof if they were at e3 with a playable demo.

I don't mean to troll but this info was already shown around here and... there was much flaming to be had. Not to be mean or discourage people from posting info they find here, just pointing out in THIS CASE its already here.

There is a couple of great threads on the Darkfall forum at the moment that anyone thinking Darkfall is vapourware should check out.
1) Just how much info has been released about Darkfall (lots), and
2) Long development time doesn't always equal vapourware.

Darkfall will be vaporware until i see a thread that says closed beta testing starting and a date. Better yet, lets have a projected release date...

Look, by the end of 2008 is not a release date, that the shit ebgames does to get a preorder set up. This game is not coming out in 2008, there is no possible way, there is very little information, very little coverage, and very little.... BETA... Sorry, there is a better chance of Star wars galaxy killing wow then there is of this game coming out before 2008.

Agreed, broad targets like 'end of 2008' doesn't qualify as a release date. (any more than WAR's Fall 2008 promise)
Till its released, we'll never be sure if it can deliver on its promises, so in the end, its the only thing that really matters at this point.

You can take the quote marks off, since that is not said anywhere in the article. They said within 2008. That is not a release date, that is a timeframe. And timeframes are alot less substantial and subject to change than a definitive date.
And it will not launch in 2008. Oh, that parts just my opinion. Feel free to live with it.
If you don't admit that you've been burned by the promise of Darkfall, you are fooling yourself.
I want Darkfall to be released and for it to live up to it's promises, but until I see it on the shelf at the store, I'll just ignore the hype. I'm just too numb to do otherwise.

Alright. Lets assume this game is released. The best case scenario is that it comes out in 2008 and hugely disappoints most of the fanboys on this site. Their expectations are so high that Darkfall could not possibly meet them, even if it wasn't vaporware. If Darkfall was released, it would take all of two weeks for the forums here to be filled with bitching about how it's a failed title, regardless of whether it's good or not, and from then on out, you'd see the usual back-and-forth between lovers and haters that fills all the game forums for released games here.
Darkfall will come out when Duke Nukem: Forever comes out.

I don't see any new info info here. A year ago they said the game was done and they were just looking for a publisher.

FIRST.. This game (that was originally supposed to be released "by the end of 2003" mind you... IS NOT going to release by the end of 2008. If you think without even a "REAL" beta start date, or an actual release date, that this game will actually release by end of '08.. Hey buddy I have some ocean front property in Kansas I'd like to sell to you.
SECOND.. Even IF this game DOES release in 2009 or 2010 or perhaps 2012, what makes you so sure that it will go the route of Age of Conan (or better) success-wise? How do you know that it won't go more the route of another big hype disappointment we'd like to refer to as "Dark and Light"? NOTHING suggests to me that this game will run or be any better then Dark and Light. Nothing. There is no good player footage. No real beta. No decent videos that were any better then any of the Dark and Light videos. In fact, Dark and Light had many more and more convincing videos before it released I would have to say.
THIRD.. You say its promised by the end of 2008. Uh huh. If that's so, then they must already have announced a company who will package and market their game for them, right? I mean there is really only 5 months left in 2008 and any game that plans on a release so soon would definitely have a lot of details like this already well known and established. Oh, what's that you say? Who is packaging and marketing their game? Hmmm? Uh-huh. Right. Let's go take a look at that ocean front property I have for sale in Kansas shall we? I have LOTS of great videos and pictures of it.. So it MUST be "real". Not only that, but lately a LOT of people have come and looked at it and told me how nice this property is. I can't allow any more people to come look at it because I will be really, really busy. I'm sure however that all these people who have seen my ocean front property in Kansas will be writing about it in their ummm local papers and stuff. Yeah. {grins}
