Ok lets discuss this recent news in a civilized manner, now that the shock value has gone down people can think on it more then " OMG CHRIST THE SKY IF FALLING"
Lets weigh the pros and cons
Cons -
The game will be missing aspects that where orginaly planed.
The game will be missing some classes.
Some races will be missing certain arch types and there will be less tanks (always a bad thing to have low amount of tanking classes)
Major cities for non empire chaos races will not be in.
Pros-
The game will be coming out
The Major city that we will have will have twice the amount of stuff to do with it
All the game Mechanics are in the game , just the variety is lost
The classes that have been scraped for launch will be overhauled when they do become release
The other tier arnt worthless since there will be a temprary ruleset till more capitals are in.
They didnt lie like AOC, they are telling us straight up and not hiding
Im personally leaning towards the pro side, at first i thought it was insane and fuck this game but as i thought it over its really not so bad. We still have most of the game, we are just missing a few classes and major cities which will prob be much better then they where if they had released them

on a side note, if you have just read the news please go to a diff topic this is for those who have gotten rid of the shock value to talk about.

It SOUNDS bad right now but none of us know how bad it truly is, not yet anyways. When NDA lifts and/or we get in Open Beta, we'll know a little more. I really hope it's not as bad as it sounds honestly, and I think they know what they're doing...

people on these forums seem to have taken it pretty well so far. lots of mature "I'm disappointed, but it would be worse" stuff.
Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.
I feel ike they owe us something now to continue to entice our interest.

If they don't do something to accomadate us I will NOT be purchasing the game till it's finsihed.
i am the same now fall is looking perfect for the release date..... the game still has everything core feature they talked about the game will still be great and even with the four classes taken out it will still balance and we still have two tanks per side which is fine.....

its all cool as long as they don't make us pay for some expansion pack of this stuff added in. makes people that roll a class for a certain roll have a lot less choices tho and 2 in places that mmo's hurt the most- tanks.
the other 4 cities are going to be a free content patch post release.
the other 4 classes are either going in a free content patch psot release OR gone for good.
I feel sorry for the people who plotted out what they were going to do, and got into the story and character, to find out that either their capital and/or class just got cut.
Most likely they cut the class that I had intended to play and roleplay as, I already know its city was cut.
They removed a lot of that WAAARG IMO.
Its going to negatively impact the players.
For the people whom had either/both their class and city cut, I bet they feel like the game isn't gonna come out anytime soon.
edit: I don;t believe for a second that the cities and classes are going to be patched in anytime soon relative to retail release. Otherwise they would have delayed. The problem seems to be that those things will require several months at least.

Big changes to WAR.
you know what? As long as the game mechanics are fine and we enjoy rvr , it doesnt matter what they cut or when they will implement the classes and the cities. i believe it will be several months or a year before they give us more cities and maybe not even then since they will be busy fixing the game's bugs or balancing classes and rvr.
well it would be the first thing to work on, they already have the ground work on them, they just need to build a better house on top so to say.Not like the city wasnt there, it just wasnt good enough, Like the Thunder bluff of WAR (lol)
would you rather have a broken class? or wait and have the class toned up to a higher standard.
Just keep in mind how late the hunter was added in WOW , was very last min.
Yeah some people will be pissed, but the reaction is actually very mature as most sad, i guess everyone is giving props for letting us know, not to find out.

Then again, I'm sure you've invested at least $500,000.00 so far in the game, or at least a substantial amount of money to warrant them accommodating you for this "Psychological Damage" that your incurring?

Until your the one managing the company, lets just let them make the decisions yes? Are people pissed off, sure, they were anticipating something that is no longer going to happen. Realistically speaking, nobody but Mythic knows how the game is "Supposed" to be, and if they said that the classes just weren't fitting in, then they just weren't fitting in. As far as loosing classes goes, apparently those classes sucked anyway or else they'd be trashing something else. It's not as if their is NO tank or melee classes. People who wish to tank can still do so, as can the melee friendly players. The game will still be the same at it's core.
