may be related to Vista nvidia drivers

Guild Wars + Vista: Very low FPS

     Wrong!

Vista SP1 here and even before i upgraded my gfx card to an AMD ATI 3750, I used to get constant 60FPS on my old Nvidia 7600GT

Issue has been resolved a long time ago. Running a 8800GT on Vista SP1, no issues at all. To the OP, try the latest drivers from NVidia. Remember to uninstall previous drivers first before installing new though...

It has to be a driver issue, as I get that FPS with 1024RAM and a 7300GS..

  • BranXBranX Member UncommonPosts: 79

It's not a driver issue i have my drivers fully updated, I just checked.

whats pissing me off is i just bought this game and for some reason im getting REALLY low fps for no reason

honestly vista is a ram hog, and yours is <2gigs. This could be the issue

My other laptop runs Vista and it too has 1024RAM and some GeForce Go graphics card and it has a higher frame rate than that...

The real question is:   What else have you got running in the back ground?

As was said above, Vista DOES need more RAM to run than XP did and this will affect gameplay if you have other things going on in the backround

my vista is completely tweaked, it uses about 180 more ram then XP does.

i have nothing running in the backround

I'm currently using the same card you used to have Although I agree, Vista has showed signs of lowering FPS. The heavily populated places lke Lion's Arch, Kaineng Center, and Kamadan will be a bit laggy when you join, but if it's that much of a trouble just leave your district in international since there's not many people there.
