Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands? ~Ernest Gaines

I don't see this as a bad thing, running around STV gets to be a pain when you are on alt number X.

    I definitely agree!

Yes this is a good thing. Waiting till lvl 40 to get a mount isn't so bad for druids, shaman and hunters but for every other class traveling is just a bore pre mount.

There making the game easier for pre BC because when the expansion comes out there will be very few people 1-60

  • Should be able to get a mount at 20 if you have another character already max level. Then epic mount at 40. Flying mount at 60 (Since outlands will be outdated with WoTLK), and whatever next thing they decide (Submarines at 80? heh).

They need to change Druid travel form to level 20 otherwise it's a pointless skill

So wait are they lowering Warlock and Paladin quest levels to 30?

That means warlock gets two things at 30

I really think this is a bad idea the game was balanced and re balanced with the idea of 40 being the mounted level, they can't JUST change that aspect and not adjust everything its balanced against.

Why not, they do it all the time... btw, the Warlock mount is now a skill learned at the trainer, they abandoned the quest a while back... the Dreadsteed si still a quest line though... which needs to be changed but thats for another thread...

I just checked the patch notes... Pali and lock mounts are available at level 30.

the dread steed quest took me three weeks to find people to help do it and it was REALLY easy once we actually got to the boss.

It a pity that the way WoW does things is it makes most of its game unplayable to introducing a newer better "more fun" alternative.

Like who goes to The Blasted Lands to level?  No one

    Who runs DM?

    No one

Whats the point of having around HALF of the world they do?   There isn't one!

they need to focus on using their older content or suffer the loss of their player base like DAoC and EQ did when they chose to phase out their older areas rather than refocus on them

I love Blizzard entertainment, I've played online games since Diablo and UO were the only two competitors and frankly both were wonderful.

I don't think it's a bad idea either. I think they should give us mounts after we leave the beginning zone, sometime between level 6 and 10. I play WOW and I want things easy, and I want things now. I should spawn with full epic gear, a pony, and a one-button kill move.

Trammies need to stop polluting the MMORPG landscape. They already have enough games in which to emote hugs and sell garbage by the banks.

I really really really hope you are being bitingly sarcastic.

Well, I was laying it on pretty thick.

    I completely support this.

Leveling from 30 to 40 is one of the lowest points in WoW. You start getting quests all over the world and you have to walk everywhere.

The one and only balance issue here is the level 39 BG twink bracket. And well, they can suck it.

  • They should give people mounts at level 1.  What does NOT having a mount and being really slow add to the game?  Nothing its just annoying and the whole mount thing is just lack of prestige in absentia.

if there going to change the lvl for mounts they could at least lower the costs too...

also if those locks and palis get/have their mounts at 30 and the rest of us at 40  does that mean they can use them in the battlegrounds in the 30-40 range and no one else can.?

they should just have mounts and other goodies available either from the get go of the game or at the turning point where quests require greater travel and or lvling becomes abit more of a task...

druid travel form should be more in line with speed of a mount not 10 to 20 % below...i wouldnt get a mount if my travel form was equal to it...well maybe cuz mounts are cute.

  • MajinashMajinash Member Posts: 1,320

Have any of these people played druids?  Travel form is instant cast, poly-immune, snare breaking and in-combat.  its not a replacement for a mount, its the reason druids are flag carriers.

That being said, my 69 druid still doesn't have a mount.  travel form till 68, then flight form.

Everything creates huge amounts of negativity on the internet, that's what the internet is for: Negativity, porn and lolcats.

  • Sure, why not?

You need something to keep the 9 year olds busy.

This is yet another reason I will never play WoW again.  The constant dumbing down of a once above-average game. :P (IMO)

I've always wanted a troll mount and never had a horde toon, I'd go back just to power level a troll to 30 to get my raptor then quit again...

Everything pre-BC is irrelevant in the scope of things.  The faster you get out of 1-60, the better.  BC will follow suit when WotLK launches.

They need to do this with the Pally mounts as well and they probably will seeing as how it will be cheaper to buy a mount than to do the quest chain.  The only reason to have a Pally/Warlock mount is the same reason you have dragon mounts...because they are cool looking.

yes, thats right, lets go make this game even EASIER for people cause you know... its hard to get to 70 as is...

"And after blizzard takes over the world, they are gonna gather a bunch of lemmings, sit on their fat asses near a cliff, and watch the little fuzzy bastards suicide dive into the ground below. . . . . all just for their own entertainment."

  • YeeboYeebo Member UncommonPosts: 1,361

I think it's a great idea personally.  STV is absolutely painful without a mount.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
