Hello everyone.
I am new to this area of gaming and need help choosing a good MMORPG. I need something that is really easy because I even found runescape hard! I don't like all those war games and the killing and that stuff. Basically, I want to play a happy, fun game that is really easy to play.
Thanks in advance,
Stephen64.

Depends on your area of interest. Most MMORPGs are pretty complex and it takes time, say 3-6 months to really understand all the ins and outs of the game. You may want to ask among your friends and family, see what they're playing. It's a great help having people you know and trust to help you over the rough spots when you're learning.
City of Heroes is a good choice for a beginner. The character archetype are pretty easy to understand if you're familiar with comics or semi-literate. It's sort of an RPG-lite, building up characters is pretty simple and straightforward. You don't need a spreadsheet to figure out how changes in your equipment affects the performance of your character. Most of the content occurs in instances, so you can get missions done without interference, harassment, or waiting in line for Mob X to spawn.
If you're looking for something a little more in depth as far as role playing, 'Lord of the Rings' is a good choice. It's more of a story driven game. You'll find yourself on a storyline that interweaves very nicely with 'The Fellowship of the Ring'. The character building is much more in depth than City of Heroes.
Puzzle Pirates
Oh by the way, I want free games.
I have heard MapleStory is good for beginners. All my friends play it too. Is that worth trying?
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
Whoa... that looks quite... bad!

thats the new version of ryl1, for op i would suggest any F2P game since they all are fairly simple and can be understood in 1-2 weeks, the only problem is that if you start with f2p you will only see the worst side of mmorpgs but with p2p you see the not so bad side.GW is easy to pick up and not to expensive if you buy only one chapter, you can learn how to behave in a party using hench so i say go for that.
but don't get into pvp as it is to hard for newbies trust me i have no problem in pve but in pvp i suck, i picked up gw a frew weeks ago, casual play.

Remember the good old days when devs made games just for the sake of making a great game?
They are forever gone now all they care is about how much they can earn from them, if they can't make millions they won't make that game.
REMEMBER THE OLD DAYS AND REGRET THEY HAVE PASSED.
I'd suggest Flyff for a friendly easy free game ^^ and it's totally cute :P

*Brain down for upgrade, don't try to understand my logic, I don't...*
Probably WOW or LOTRO would be easy for new players. If your computer is not too powerful I would go with WOW as it runs on almost anything.
Games out now are soooo easy that you don't need a MMO to "get started on." They all tell you EXACTLY what to do. Frankly, if they're too difficult, then you probably shouldn't be allowed to use a computer. WoW is probably the easiest of easy, but its a fairly poor game and looks like crap.
For your first MMO, try LotRO.
Darkfall Travelogues!
I reccomend Maplestory as a first mmorpg. It's very chilled, without the pressure of leveling. There's plenty of quests that you can do in the earlier levels that drive leveling itself rather than grinding.
The community is good if you look for the right people. I've been playing for 3 years, and I've gotten to know people so well. Six of my friends on my buddylist have been dating for over one year, and one couple is engaged in real life.
Parties are encouraged for training in later levels, as well as doing Party Quests together. You can choose between 4 classes at level 10. Then get branched to a choice between another 2-3 classes at level 30. Then you advance again at level 70, and another at level 120. This brings lots of opportunity for trying out tons of classes and replay value towards the game. The community is diverse class-wise, where there is not one class that is broken and everyone uses.
If Runescape was too complex and the world felt too big to grasp, this is a great start. Maplestory can lay the foundation for all other MMORPGS you play in your future. www.nexon.net
Try Hello Kitty Online !! ahahah you dissapoint me you useless MMO'er
