hi i've been playing guild wars for a while not its still very fun but now i've taken a look at lineage 2 and i'm thinking about trying it but i have a few questions, hope somebody can help me thanks in advance.

1.i usually dont mind grinding but how many hours are we talking about here is there stuff like setting up a shop then go afk?

2.i have a pretty decent computer which was powerful enough to play call of duty 4 with just a little lag occasionaly, but does L2 have good servers or are they a huge lag fest?

3.do you think this game will die when L3 comes out in about 2 years from now

4.how does the group system work can you solo the entire game or do u have to be in teams.

5.do you have to travel alot to get where you need to go or is there map traveling like in guild wars.

6.how is the economy? i heard many items are severly over-priced due to gold sellers and bots, i also heard there is a L2 recession due to bots.

thats all the questions i currently have this game has an extremely huge download so i have to wait until its saturday so i can start downloading it in the morning and it'll probably finish at night.

thanks again for the help.

    1. For grinding we are talking a long time. With Lineage 2, quests don't usually help you level so it's advised to pretty much ignore the ones you can. Yes you can set up shop. You will notice a few central shopping hubs in the towns of Giran and Aden.

    2. The servers of Lineage 2 are fairly decent. Usually if theres a problem it's on your end. Sieges on the other hand if there are a lot of players in one place can be really annoying because lag does come into factor there. However it won't be a factor in your grinding.

    3. It won't die. L1 still lives on. Lineage 3 won't come out for another 3-4 years.

    4. You can solo the whole way, but it's faster to party up. Actually the game is really buff dependant, in that you'll feel like you NEED to have prophet buffs soloing and almost every buff in the game while in a party.

    5. You can use the Gatekeepers found in every town to port to pretty much anywhere. Then you can use Scroll of Escape to recall to the nearest town. It does cost some adena though so use it sparingly.

    6. The economy is fine if you can handle it. Many of the higher level items may be overpriced, but be smart and use it to your advantage.

I have to say, though I really like Guild Wars, L2 and Guild Wars are on the exact opposite of the spectrum with the similiar art design being the fulcrum.

You wil go into shock if you are used to the easy leveling, story based quests, no need for "uber" equipment, etc of GW once you try L2.

Hey, just preparing you. Many people don't realize how difficult it is. however, if you get into a good clan/alliance then that will make all the difference.

One thing I've noticed from other games is that clan/alliance really is your family. In LOTRO I went to help some lower lvl kin mates. When they thanked me I said "hey, that's what kin mates are for" which they responded "no they aren't!"

I just think that players in other games don't realize how close you become in L2 and how much you go out to help your clan mates.

    Good Luck.

Uh, I am pretty sure its common that player unions such as the "clans" of Lineage 2 or the "guilds" in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes are there for helping each other, and for getting good parties going much easier than if one is alone.

Its true though, that in Vanguard, I was amazed how easily guilds can fall apart. The people dont even leave the game - they just join other guilds.
