Yes, and I must say that it is an amazing amount of content for $40 bucks.

One of the best "bang for your buck" buys out there.

I think there has been an expansion released recently that u might have to buy (if you want that other content it offers - which I think is for high level players anyways).

But, as the other guy posted - that should do the trick for you.

RIse of Kunark is the newest one that has come out.

To the OP, maybe try a berzerker or maybe a hybrid class until you get used to all different things in the game. I personally liked the Shaman..GL2ya

eq2 has 24 classes some of these 8 are good only, 8 evil only and 8 neutral. while at start some of tehse look not that different the differences get bigger with levels and when you get newer spells.

wow warlock is a mage pet class so in eq2 the classes that are closest to it are conjurer and necromancer they both get 3 different main pet types and some swarm pets as well as mostly damage spells.  illusionists have also a pet (mirror image)  but they are more a support class which is specilised on crowd controll, coercers are also crowd control class and they can charm any npc as their pet (but that pet can break free at random times so its not without risk). the otehr 2 mage types wizard and warlock are the more direct nukers with warlock more specialised on area damage while wizard is more specialised on big single target nukes.

wow  rogue would be the scout classes, especially assasin, swashbuckler and brigand are melee dps classes with positional and stealth attacks. assasin is only dps oriented while swashbuckler and brigand also have some taunts which make them a good chice for some small group tanking. ranger is a bit different cause they are mostly bow oriented (which also makes it a bit different to solo).

of these classes i would say necromancer, conjurer, swashy and brigand  are probably the easist ones for starter, the others are also not bad to solo just need a bit more practice in some cases.

adventure and tradeskill level cap is 80 in eq2, they tend to raise it in 10 level steps, but not every expansion did a level raise (echoes of faydwer kept the level cap at 70).

additionally to adventure level and tradeskill level you also have a achievement level which is different xp taht you gain for completeing quests killing named mosnster the first time, discovering new places... .these can be spent in some achieveemnt trees (a bit simillar to wow talents just you don't get 1 point every adventure level) these are capped out at lvl 100 for sub lvl 70 and at lvl 140 for lvl 70-80 players.

It really depends on how you play, if you just push for getting to max level and minmax exp gains get help form guild or friends then you can reach adeventure lvl 80 in a few weeks (you probably won't be at achievement level 140 in that time so that will need some seperate leveling).  i personally think leveling speed is not that much different to wow, but as i said it depends a lot on how you play.

Anyway i think these games are much more fun if you take your time and enjoy the way to level cap, there is lots of things to see and do on the way and these things will jsut be boring grey once you are at level cap.

some people even turn off the combat xp and level only form quest xp to see more of the game on the way (there is an option to do taht if you want), nothing that i personally would do on my characters i am the multicharacter player and use alts to do things that i missed out on my main.

CHECK OUT THE "ALL STATION ACCESSS ACCOUNT!"  from SOE get like 5-7 games on the one account and monthly fee, you get Everquest  1 & 2, Starwars, Matrix, planetside and Vanguard,( u still have to buy the Vanguards game thou)

I found mine on eBay for $50.00, all the installs in one set, all are full installs with 30 days of gameplay for each game.

you still will have to buy the xtra's paks for Everquest 2, but they do come at a much cheaper price.

It is a great deal, but make sure you read all before you buy, ( as you should any game.)

    Hope this helps.
