in Guild Wars
Has anyone heard (in any interviews, sites or anything) whether the original Guild Wars will still be getting any updates such as new areas or mini-expansions or anything like that once GW2 is released?

hmm no idea, i sure hope so... but isnt it alittle early to be thinkin about that yet? guild wars 2 isnt coming out till 2010 if im correct
O wow...I thought it was sooner than that..^^; Still would be nice to find out though (even if there will be more content before then too....:)
Nope, no new areas for Guild Wars 1, however it has been confirmed that ANet will be 100% still doing balances, and holiday events and keeping the game alive "as long as people are playing it"
Guild Wars 2 betas are due to start end ofthis year with a (currently penciled in) release of Q2 2009, so thats April, May or June next year
There are no planned new areas for GW, meaning that they could very well add new content at a later stage. This wouldn't be in the form of a campaign/expansion, but rather an update such as the Sorrow's Furnace update applied some time ago. Right now they're just focusing on getting Guild Wars 2 developed properly, then they'll probably consider adding new content to the original every now and then depending on how many people continue playing it.
