Leading MMO-devs, who do you FEELS it is? (poll)

Guys, we all see some devs proclaiming themselves the leading devs in the MMO industry, based on some factors.  Other devs may be proclaimed so by their fans, yet they never want this title.

So, here, who do YOU FEELS are the leading MMO-devs?

It's obviously Blizzard...they have a massive portion of the MMO market, and are in the process of developing at least one other MMO that is not related to World of Warcraft...You really can't argue with the kind of success that they've had and say that they aren't the leaders in MMO development.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

This is 1 way to see things.

Amounts of projects/games is another way.

    Time in developpment.

    Longest created game.

Game which influence and change the most other (WoW was changed a lot by other MMOs).

See, this is why I ask what peoples think...there are many way you can perceive who is leading.  Blizzard, by definition, is never leading anything, they adapt and refine.  They take what exist and improve.  This, would not be seeing as leading...and I think many Blizzard peoples would agree that they refine rather than lead.  :P

Bush leads USA and possibly the world.  Bill Gates is a LOT richer than he would ever be.

So again, it is a matter of perception.

From an international standpoint, I'd go with NCSoft. Lineage was crazy popular in the East, if I'm not mistaken. My warm and fuzzy years of playing Lineage 2 might also influence this opinion.

SOE shouldn't even be on that list.  They have never developed anything that was good.

I would say it is a toss up between NCSoft and Turbine.  Only companies in my opinion that have shown that they are good MMO companies.  (I consider WoW to be a very good game but since it is the only MMO Blizzard has made it is hard to say if they are a good MMO Company or just got lucky with how popular WoW has gotten)

NCSoft developed lineage 1 and 2 which both were huge huge hits.

Turbine developed AC1 and LOTRO which were both hits (of course not huge like WoW, L1, or L2)

If WAR turns out really good then I would put EA Mythic up there as well.

But my personal vote currently would go for Turbine.  Asheron's Call is the most original MMO ever made in my opinion and one of the best.  Lord of the Rings is a great polished game that is quite good and getting better the more content they add to the game.  DDO while not my cup of tea when it launched (way to group dependant to even play) has gotten much better from everything I read.

    Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

    Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

Oh and your poll is kind of misleading.  You should distinguish between games where the company was the actual original developer and where the company was only the publisher.

For instance Everquest is not originally a SOE Developed game,  neither is Matrix Online, or Vanguard.

NC Soft didn't develop City of Heroes/Villians, Guild Wars, tabula rasa, or AutoAssault.

Those are just off the top of my head. :)
