Playing as a Shaman myself, I can't help but feel that something somewhere went totally wrong.

Look for druids to drop off alot unless they change some of the nerfs in 2.4 Also keep in mind kill tradeing. Not saying balance is great, its anything but. There are mitigating factors though.
Balance is one of the difficulties for WoW. Its never really gel'd. However, I will say they made some changes in 2.4 that HAd to be made.
In the end, I think the Arenas really brought the Class imbalance to the forefront of issues with this game

Blizzard has always sucked for class balance in PvP; playing as a feral druid I can tell ya that those 20% of high-ranking druids are more than likely resto for arenas so don't lose hope .. we ferals are as screwed as you are.
