Any of you guys ever smoke from a hookah? Theyre pretty relaxing..
They are not supposed to be used for anything other than shisha ( flavored tobacco) but then mainstream people see a hookah as a mariujana water pipe.

I think I've tried that... I think it's quite awesome, even though the taste can get quite disgusting if you manage to burn the stuff that's supposed to make it taste.
I love hookah, im actually trying to get one right now. Mango and banana are my favorite flavors. The only problem is when you get crusties in your tubes and you get some scooby snacks.
It's good stuff, theres a Hookah cafe not even a quarter of a mile away form my dorm. Me and a few buddies go there every so often to relax. I wasnt too sure about ti at first but once every few weeks isnt bad. Much better smell than cigarettes. I'm quite partial to grape and banana, watermelon leaves this really funky after taste, and I do believe were going tonight before the club crowd walks in.

But yeah...Hookah is for high schoolers who want to fit in but don't want to take the bigger step, which is, of course, real cigarettes...Hookah = social smoking without the stigma of being a cigarette smoker, but the added stigma of being a socially conforming tool.

I'm not a smoker but I have a few friends who are into those things. We're all medieval reinactors so they like to lounge around in a Persian setting with the pillows and all that stuff while they use those devices. They seem quite popular. I've asked, out of curiosity, and most of the people who are regular smokers prefer those Hookahs to cigarettes or cigars. I guess there's an array of flavored tobaccos they put in them. They explained the physics of the contraption, which was pretty interesting. I wonder if they are less harmful than regular smoking?

On the contrary, there have been no concrete scientific studies that Hookah is actually more harmful than cigarettes. However, one hookah session ( 45mins-1hr) is equal to 200x the volume of a cigarette. The thing is, you don't inhale the smoke from a hookah like you would with a cigarette. Atleast you shouldn't anyways. I think that hookah is actually cleaner than cigarettes and tons healthier. That is because you do not directly burn the shisha ( molasses and tobacco). You place the coals on top of the foil that roast the shisha and glycerin which produce the smoke that then filters through the shaft and water. Not too mention, the tobacco for hookah does not contain hundreds of chemicals and harmful additives like cigarettes do. Shisha is just glycerin , oil extract( flavoring) , and tobacco leaves.
It is a given, however, that smoking anything is bad.
