Worth Returning to Game?

Dreamer_BoneDreamer_Bone Member Posts: 7

I deactivated my Lineage 2 Account about a year ago sometime in Chronicle 4. I had a level 58 Elemental Summoner with marginally good gear but when my brother played and quit he gave away everything I had. Would it be worth returning to this game at this time? Would it be better to create a new account so I can take advantage of the newbie buffs and other things or try to scrape together enough money with my old? If I created a new character, which I would pretty much have to, would it even be worth trying to catch up in level to everyone else?

it's up to you if you wanna return, they's still bot's pretty much every where on some server's and ncsoft still dosen't care about em, then a few server's are pretty dead but what server are you from?

if your on a populated server just reactivate the account with your Elemental Summoner, make a alternative, and buy a NG robe upper and lower robe then 2 D crystal's and then use Freight to transfear em to your Elemental Summoner.

Then farm with it for an hour and you have better benefit's then starting with a complety new character...

I was on Lionna.. which I know wasn't as populated as Bartz but not as bad as some of the others...

i don't think you should start over on Lionna but it's just from what i heard about the server...

so it's up to you or maybe some who has recently startet up on Linna can you tell you how the population is, in the lower lvl's...

btw the population is a lot worse then it was back in C4

My first thought is that if you have no gear, you should start over. If I were you and wanted to play this game I would start over on a populated server. Bartz for U.S and Teon/Franz for Euro (I would go to Teon as it is the older server and has quite a few people).

They are going to be implementing Server Transfers "soon". It is currently being tested in-house. So, it might still be possible to bring your character to another server at some point. Good luck. - S

    Adena > all.

No point in playing a level-anything anything if you don't have the adena to support it.

I have a different opinon. I believe levels are more important than gear. What you need to do though is re-enter the game into a clan structure. You will find it a lot easier than trying to work your way up to C grade on your own.

At 58 you will have at your disposal the skill to summon party members from anywhere in the world to your location, which to an organised clan, is an invaluable asset when it comes to raiding or PvP. I don't believe that re-rolling would improve your gaming experience irrespective of any of the new changes implemented since C4. L2 values levels above all else, its the primary timesink in the game, don't let yourself fall victim to the notion of the grind by redoing something which may not necessarily meet your expectations.

Once you find the right clan with a solid support structure, things will tend to fall into place. Someone will surely be able to lend you some equipment until such time as you can craft/buy your own. The most important thing is that you will still be playing the class you like/enjoy in the full knowledge that its a great class for both the PvE and PvP endgame.

Finally, NCSoft is also looking to implement server transfers so there are more options for you there should you chose to move to a more populated server.

You bring up a good point. However, if he doesn't know anyone, I wonder if any clan will want to lend him any gear as he will essentially be a new and untested and unknown player. There are so many players who join clans who are scammers that many clans are very wary of them until they have stayed and proven themselves.

But sure, if he likes his class and can get someone to give him gear then why not continue with the character. It's just my thought that most people won't just give out gear to an unknown.

I agree that it would be better to just try to find a clan to help me with gear... but like Sovrath said I would be pretty much an unknown and this would make it difficult. I quit one time before but for a lot less of a time period... and so I actually still knew people when I went back in and joined and was able to borrow gear from friends. However, when I left the last time most of the people I knew had quit/went to WoW/whatever... so I don't know if that's a viable option anymore. (And to the guy who loaned me the blue wolf robes and who I said I would give them back to... I'm sorry! My brother gave them away after I told him about a thousand times not to... lol x.x 'Don't use these if you're not going to give them back!'.. man, don't trust siblings)

And that's exactly why people won't give you gear. No matter how well meaning you might be about returning it, things like this happen. That sours clans from giving/loaning gear, money, etc.

Reroll. Even if you find a clan willing to support you, it will be a long time before you aren't 100% dependent on them. But if you don't mind wearing the ball and chain then whatever, more power to you.

I agree I think rerolling is the most viable option if i choose to return to the game, which with my current failure of a Vista laptop, that prospect isn't looking too good.

It's not worth it to return in L2 imo. I finaly quit after 3 years in Hindemith. There are too many bots/ebayed acc's and too few legit players. That game is dead only cus NC Soft are dumbasses. They don't ban bots, they don't care about cheaters. Even the last expansion couldn't stop ppl quitting.

All good points, ultimately it hinges on your personality.

We have had new players join our clan, we have put them through the Academy and ppl have loaned them equipment. It may not have been top equipment +10 for the relevant grade but it was good enough to allow them to progress.

There are many ways of engaging a clan in order to play this game. Knowing that most clans are relatively close knit and untrusting offers you a piece of information to act on. It is up to you how to use the information, noone mentioned freebies or hand outs, although there have been plenty of those as well.

L2 is not a game for those players who need to be spoonfed. You need to be proactive and demonstrate the capacity to earn trust and respect.  There are many ways to demonstrate this proactivity in game, not the least being to help out the ppl who sponsored you into the clan in their quests and endeavours. You will find soon enough that they will be more than happy to return any favours. The key point here is that you must make the first step and manage your expectations accordingly...

In L2 you reap what you sow ;)

Seriously, no truer words have ever been written about this game.

I think people expect to "show up" and  the game will lead them to where they want to go. L2 is a bit more of a throwback to older games it seems.
