Why do you need a credit card for the trial?

Why do you need a damn credit card to test the trial? i tought most games removed that stupid thing, they get alot more costumers if they remove the credit card at trial account, Still dont get my new card before another week or two so guess ill have to wait, unless i find some other game.
Anyone else thinks its bullshit?

It is bull shit. I cancelled for the trial and was still charged $20 dollars for this damn game even after cancelling 3 times.
I have to ask also, why in the hell do they charge $20 dollars for a game that's old as hell? I'm dreading at the thought of how much EA/Mythic will be charging for Warhammer if this old ass game costs $20 a month.
I am hoping also that EA/Mythic doesn't resort to their shitty account practices when Warhammer hits as it is really irritating trying to find a cancel button or filling out a 20 page report just to cancel your account with them.
