Yeah, getting large means you'll be on Privateer's Wardec list on a regular basis But congrats to your success and continued growth in EVE
Heh not to mention once you appear on the radars of the 'big guys' the heat tends to get turned on.
BRUCE has had the heat turned on since the begining of the alliance. Has been wardecced almost non stop by various merc outfits and alliances the whole time. BRUCE will be fine.
Originally posted by Jack_Target The Graduates, the corporation which I'm in, now has 300 members! We're growing at a rate of 10 members a week these days. BRUCE Alliance is now the 7th largest alliance in Eve. This is a triumph of kind ideology, diverse professions, a teaching ethos, fighting pirates, and a desire to harvest the riskiest and wealthiest parts of space.
Just curious, but of the 10 weekly additions, how many are trial accounts or temps? Is the retention 100%, 90%, 80% or 25%? One thing about large guilds is, new additions past a certain point tend to get lost in the shuffle and rarely get the recognition they are seeking. Not to mention, the way Eve Online is setup, I was under the impression that recruiting was like performing a background check for the CIA or FBI, due to the fact multiple corporations try to plant sleeper cells and spies within enemy Corps.
Totally depends on the outfit. Most 0.0 outfits have very rigorous systems where they do background checks etc to ensure that applicants are not spies. But there are some who do not. Bruce, I believe, is one of the later (could be wrong). Unfortunately the more open your recruiting system the more riddled with spies your organization is.
Yes, it's been a while since I've played Eve, so I am not up to speed on how rampant this type of behavior is anymore. I do remember it was less then a year ago, that I was abruptly turned down by several of the larger corporations because my original toon was created when Eve first came out and I had not played him for years. I suspected that they were skeptical of my lengthy and undeveloped character, like some sort of red flag being waved in their face when in fact I just wanted to give Eve another shot. I ended up creating my own Corp. and utilized 3 accounts to achieve any form of satisfaction since pirating in empire space was extremely common. Anyhow, congrats on the surge in growth, just don't let the hand that feeds you, bite you in the arse down the road.
Oh it's still VERY rampant and extremely common. Very few corporations in EVE, let alone alliances, are 'spy free'.

My corp is spy free ... but that might be because there are only two other members at the moment. I'm married to one, and I work with the other. Of course, I've just started recruiting, so it's only a matter of time before I hire a spy and/or corp thief.

You will feel the pain of metagaming soon, like we do since that crap started..
If I recall correctly, The Graduates most likely doesn't allow trial accounts or very many new players in the corp. Just from reading their recruiting thread, they require a minimum 7 mil SP. They do waive that restriction for EVE Uni graduates though, which is one of the reasons I'm looking into The Graduates for when I've got the experience through EVE Uni.
Looks to be a very capable corp and alliance, with the chance to get my first 0.0 experience.

I am myself a TGrad. I am sure we have spies, but our security is such that no operation is known enough ahead of time to allow for any spies to act fast enough
I also think that TGrad is one of the top corporations in Eve and within Bruce

Another TGRAD here.
Privateers don't bother us much, don't see too many of them in 0.0.
I registered on your boards as Lateris.
