Just like certain books are easier to translate into movies, certain IPs are easier to translate into MMOs: they have more and/or more suitable qualities that make for a solid MMO (at least in principle). But what are those qualities?
What sort of criteria do you look for in an IP when you decide that it should be made into an MMO?
Comments
When I make MMOs, I look for IPs with bewbies. Lots of bewbies.

You can make a MMO out of everything.
But what most likely will give the designers better qualities, is ofcourse the the content and deep storyline the game has.
Take WoW for instance, it has a very detailed storyline, and already many items and so on and so fourth...
This is really a wide subject.

It is also important to look at things from a technical standpoint as well. Something like Dragonball Z, in which everyone knows a similar form of flying kung-fu and has similar sorts of energy blasts, would be a bit easier to make then somelike like Transformers, in which a great number of vehicle models would need to be able to transform into robots. You could say the same thing with an IP like Naruto, with kunai and headbands for everybody, as opposed to One Piece, where every single character has a unique style.
