Hey all i played DDO on launch day and for about 4-5 months i'd say i love this game! the community is real mature and helpful with none of the "Noob" BS. but alas me and my g/f ran out of content and went to WoW, now i played WoW on launch also and loved it as well but quit for DDO, and went back to WoW after my G/f said she would like to try it so i went with her now we are getting very bored of the grindfest and was wondering if it might be worth coming back to look at the new mods until PoTBS comes out =P we stopped right after the titan was released so im sure more stuff has come out thanks!

Lots of new content has been added. Trust me you wont get bored. SOme stuff can be grindfest but that is the only way to slow the powergamers that want everything.
Anyhow, you can subscribe a month at a time and have lots of fun. I subbed for the whole year to save a few bucks.
The new content is a blast. The new necro line is not my favorite but its fun.
Agreed, and one thing about grinding...in this game, it's purely optional (and still extremely limited).
Grinding for favor: I hardly call this "grinding" as it requires you run every quest in the game between once and 3 times total, but again...totally optional, as it simply opens up 32 point character builds which are far from required to play.
Grinding for raids: Only the top two raids (Gianthold and Necropolis) have this feature, which requires collecting X number of items to get raid ready. Frankly, most players like it better because once you do it, you're ALWAYS raid ready from then on. Either way, not required unless you want to run the top two raids in the game.
Grinding for items: Couple of different ways you can grind out tokens in the desert or tome pieces in necropolis, etc. and turn them in for items...but none of these items are even close to required or game breaking, so completely your choice.
Also note, for the last two (raids and items) none of the collectibles are bound, so you really don't even have to grind them at all if you just want to buy them or trade for them.
You don't really need to do same instance three times to get the most favour out of it. If you do it once on elite you get full elite gain from it. There are plenty of groups that are going only for elite so finding a group for it is an easy task. It's not a grind, it's part of the game.
REALITY CHECK
The only thing that spoiled it for me, in DDO, was the lack of grouping, maybe it's because im in the UK, being unable to join groups meant i was stuck to doing the solo quests, and,yes they look good, the whole game looks good andit plays really well, i can see already that the game would be a lot more fun if there were more players.
Yes, all in all, it is worth it to come back and take a peek. Eben with the issues the game has, it is still the best out ther imo.
Content releases have slowed way down, but if you have been gone that long you will still have plenty of new content to keep you busy for quite a while.
Personally, any dev company that bases their progression curve on power gamers should be fired and blackballed from the industry.
With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal
How long ago did you play? Ever since the server merger, I've neve had a problem finding a group. Get yourself in a guild and you'll be good to go. We've got people from coast to coast in the US in our guild as well as some over in Korea and Japan as well as Australia.
