I can play the MY-English version. Servers are up now for me anyway.
Character customization is the best I've seen. Wish they had more hair styles (and polygons) but I was amazed when I went to the newbie field and couldn't find anyone who looked exactly like me. Everything else about the game though is pretty meh.
Another thing is asian MMO devs never do anything about BOTs. They get infested in their games. And if it's FTP it usually has an item mall that requires you to purchase online crap with real money or your toon will be gimp. Plus, they usually let people set up little shops which suck because they are all over the dang place lagging everything up. Point/Click isn't my thing either.
The delay thing is normal, but this is still a beta, and even when a MMORPG game goes retail, there are often tweaks - throughout the life of the game itself as long as it is still running on the servers.
It is annoying at times, but for me only because I get serious lag on top of that, which makes my archer skip very important special attacks and sometimes getting killed because of it. I believe though, that the lag will not be as bad when they move / improve the english servers and tweak the game code otherwise.
For a beta, PW runs very well for me. Will all graphics settings on max, you get a game world that looks a lot like what you would expect in T.E.S. Oblivion (my opinion). You can also pick herbs everywhere, and make your own potions (you will have to spend skillpoints training those skills, of course).
This beta has yet to crash for me, and I am impressed by how solid it is. There are things they should improve upon (such as the text font being used, the horrible translation to english e.t.c.), but overall I am very impressed. And this is a free to play MMORPG!
I highly recommend you try PW if you haven't already. The last game I played before this was Silkroad Online, and this game feels much better for me to play anyway. Less zombie grinding, more quests and general fun.

Lmao, you are kidding right? The graphics in perfect world are basic at best.
Currently downloading this.....my question is that it says DL all 4 files before starting. After I get the 4 which one has the setup or how do I go about this? The site tells you if you have the dvd but not if you are downloading it
IMO this game is unplayable. The delay on attacking just ruins it. I guess I'm too used to mmo's that actually react when I attack rather than waiting a bit first. If they want to delay for some casting time or something there should be animation letting us know that's what is happening.
Guess it doesnt matter for me, about 5% into the first DL it stopped, went to the website to start it again and cant even start the DL's now. I thought I may be interested but not if I cant even DL it :P Guess its back to talisman online which is fun in its own way.

If you do not mind: For how long have you been playing Perfect World, which class did you choose and how many levels did you get to before you stopped playing? What exactly put you off it, if I may ask?
I have not reached far at all yet in PW; I have a level 28 Wing Elf Archer and a level 23 WereFox. Of those two, I am leaning towards the WereFox, because taming animals was something I enjoyed much in Star Wars Galaxies and Anarchy Online, and they can be a decent mage as well as doing a tradeskill or two.
After a few more days with PW, I have realized that tradeskills are limited in this game, but it is there, which means there is more to do than just killing stuff, and that is a good thing. But like I said, it is pretty limited.
As for the graphics, I was tired when I wrote my previous post, and I stand corrected. It does not look at all as good as T.E.S. Oblivion. Still, with all the graphics on MAX, it has nice looking vegetation, and the world looks more alive. With full GFX it also adds that "bloom" effect, which I believe can be deactivated manually.
You said the graphics is "basic at best". I of course respect your opinioin, but I also know artistic and well done textures when I see it, and there are many of those in PW.
One of the biggest letdowns for me so far is the monsters in PW. They look dull, and they are extremely predictable, which was not a surprise in any way; I have come to expect this whenever I try a new MMORPG game. Single Player games simply are much better still for PvE.
You can be PK'ed after level 30. The PK system works in a way that protects the innocents in that, if you PK someone unprovoked and others come for you, chances are your avatar will drop something from the inventory that you'd rather not want to lose in the first place. It seems pretty well balanced to me, so far, but I have no first hand experience with it yet (my WereFox mage will go down in one or two hits, my archer will survive a bit longer most likely).
I have better things to do than trying new games all the time, install and uninstall, find new game, rinse and repeat, so I rather stay with a game for a while to see if I am going to put any more time into it further after that. Perfect World is one of those games. I have not decided whether I like it or not yet, and I doubt I will be playing it for a long time, but it is still an open beta and a lot can and will change - hopefully for the better.
I hope you find what you are looking for. The main point is to have fun, and if you are not, then there is no point in playing it.
Well all i can say is that game rocks, i played almost all tops mmos, tabula rasa lordt online lineage 2, etc etc and im telling you guys thats the game that had the best graphics for me.
The game is a mix of WOW Lineage2 and AION in some sort of way, play it its a very good game im playing and im liking it the only thing it has bad is the names of the monsters, and the making of them its a bit childish if it had l2 monsters the game would be the best mmos around in the world that is free :P
Originally posted by Arkstu The reason why this game looks so good, is because it's using a hacked Wow client, or even just as bad, resource for World of Warcraft, im pretty sure of this as i used to play Worlf of Warcraft... alot!

awesome game. best f2p mmo i've ever played

So is the skill use delay thing normal, or just a beta thing?

Well, I'm done with this game then. I'm sort of tempted to leave it installed though just to play around with the character creator

Torrent link for the game. You get much better speed, and their server doesnt get hammered that much

4 files? I downloaded the client in one file, the installer. It's kack anyway, not really worth the effort imo.

is it still in beta?
Gross looking yapanimation characters.

Oh so you write code in your spare time?
Graphics are nice if you turn the settings up. Still, I'd rather have gameplay over graphics any day.
I've definitely played more dull F2P games than this.
