I am desperate to find an MMO to play. I've read reviews etc but nothing is of any interest.
I left SWG because of the awful way the game has turned out. PVP is the be all and end all, played by some of the most socially retarted people I've met and I really cannot stand the game at all anymore.
LOTR I enjoy but no longer grips me in the way a great MMO would for long periods of time.
Have just tried Pirates of the burning sea - awfully repetative, very little immersion into the world. Very very disapointing (I was actually close to tears after playing beta for a week).
I just want a game, as SWG was pre NGE, that grips me, makes me want to skive off work. Preferably not another fantasy game as they are all increasingly 'samey'.
Any suggestions, please help me or I may be forced to spend time with the family

If you dont mind playing an old game try Asherons call. www.turbine.com Graphics are old and servers are somewhat low on population but it has great lore and gameplay. Not really skills in the way most games do it but it may be worth a shot for as cheap as it is and I do believe there is a trial.
I seem to have the same problem as you do. Most of the games are all either full of idiots, or run by idiots. There are some promising games that are planned to be released over next year or so, like Age of Conan and WAR.. There is also Darkfall, but a lot of people are seriously doubting it will ever come out... I'm waiting for those games, hoping that they won't be crumby as well.. Some are coming out early 2008, so it isn't too much of a long wait.
